Hello Sandra,
Thank you for your prompt reply and additional info l did not have.
An expert on the Rogers family, sadly not with us anymore, had amassed a very large amount of info on the Rogers lines. The Morgan family of Knighton seem to have stumped her, as little is known.
I can easily send you what l have on the Rogers families of that period if you let me have your e-mail address by contacting me at *
Thanks in advance

John

Hi,
I have not done too much family searching this past winter.
I am still very interested in the family of Edward Morgan and Elizabeth Rogers, especially Elizabeth.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Parish records for Llanbister have baptism of Elizabeth daughter of Thomas Rogers by Sarah his wife on August 20, 1790.

Parish records for Llanfihangle nant Melan have marriage of Edward Morgan of the Parish of Knighton and Elizabeth Rogers of this Parish, by licence, on April 19, 1814. Witnesses were John Rogers and Richard Williams

I may be on the wrong track but have the following family all born at Great House, Knighton -

Thomas - Dec 18, 1814
Mary - November 24, 1816
Elizabeth - December 27, 1818
John - November 11, 1820
George - January 5, 1823
Jemina Ann - February 5, 1825
Edwyn - March 25, 1827
Charles - 1831 (?)
William - April 15, 1838

Edwyn, Charles(?) and William are listed in the 1841 census for Knighton.

Love to hear from you.

John

Hello,
I am looking for any information on a John Davies who left Radnorshire, Wales in the 1860's.
He married Margaret Malone and had a store in Brunswick, close to Melbourne.
He had a large family, but little is known about this generation.
Can anyone help?

Thank you John J

I have done a great amount of work to piece together the Sheen families of Radnorshire. Some are indirectly related to my tree, on both father's and mother's side.
The Evans families around the Glascwm area, which includes Franksbridge is of greater interest to me.
William Evans (Wernhusmon/Llanhowell) married my great grandfather's niece, Mary Louise Jones, and the name is spread all over the area.
Any help out there ?????

Hello,
I have otlined in an earlier question about Edward Morgan and Elizabeth Rogers.
She would be the auntie of my grandmother Sarah Rogers (1876-1962) the daughter of John Rogers and Margaret Jenkins.
I am trying to enlarge the family of Edward and Elizabeth Morgan, who l think farmed Great House, Knighton?
Any help?

Hello,
Rock Baptist Chapel is off the Crossgates - Llandewi Ystradenny road, with a sign leading to a very steep road to a parking area. There are two parts to the graveyard on either side of the chapel. The older part contains quite a few Griffiths, Rogers and other common names of the area. Most of the stones are in bad shape and a census of the whole area is urgently needed. The Powys Aarchives in Llandrindod has the listing of graves and will only provide single enquiries on request.
I was at Rock Chapel last October (2010) and spent a very worthwhile time recoding those stones that fittedmy family research.

In reply to you question to someone else whether they were related to Edward Morgan who married Elizabeth Rogers, and l think farmer Great House, Knighton.
I have been trying to enlarge on this family with limited success and was hoping you would be able to help me.
My grandmother was Sarah Rogers (1876-1962) the daughter of John Rogers and Margaret Jenkins. They farm Rhewey, Llanfihangle nant Melan. Elizabeth would be an auntie to my grt grandmother.
Thanking you in advance.
