Hi Stephanie .just was reading all about your granddad. yes you are right to be  proud of him. after looking at D DAY .and Jim1. you are right to show us those pic. we can not forget what those men  went through.I hope it was ok. to post this here.

Hi Jds1945. and Seaweed.I will look into this next week. I will post what what I find. again thanks so much. I have a start now .I got my mothers birth cert, It says her dad was in F.S army in 1923 .my mother never said her father was in the army. she always said he was in the merchant navy. all her family were in the navy. I know this for fact.  I think F,S  means free state army. am I right. and I know my granddad was in the navy . thanks tess59.

hi all the kings from Sutton valence kent. looking for any family of George king born 1856. his dad George born 1833. mother eliza sage. George married an irish girl.  lived here in Ireland after leaving army in England. hoping to find some family over in kent. would be nice to talk. doing family tree .

Hi Philip thanks for that info.but seaweed is right.  my grandfather did have shrapnel in his leg.  thanks for that seaweed. will I get all his information. from find my past for a fee I would like to know what ship it was.

Hi I am looking for some information on my grandfather. whom I know was in the merchant navy.  the ship he was on was hit with a torpedo. he was injured and I know he would go as a old man to leopardstown hospital. I don't know what ship he was on. I know he had medals . his name is Michael Gorman born 1887. in Galway Ireland. he was in ww1.if  any one can help please

hi all. who looked for me re George king born 1857' this is him I have found him on census. but was not sure I had right man. that is why I looked for a birth cert . I did e mail the parish in Sutton so I will try all 3 again. I might get him in one of them. so thanks again for all your help. tess59

hi I have looked for a birth cert at bdm in kent   for my great grand father George king. from Sutton valence. born 1856.  1868. son of George king . they told me they could not find one. to try the parish he came from. if some one could help me as I live in Ireland.  George's parish was church of England. need to find his dad. and his dad. to finish family tree would like some paper work. thank you if you can help
