Lazenbys are NOT so commom in Canada.

Our line emigrated from Middlesbrough, England in 1910

We have traced back only to about 1780...a Samuel Lazenby...Yorkshire

Middleton tyas...appears to be about 20 miles west  of
the Middlesbrough area where My Lazenbys lived in 1870s

I used the site:  curiousfox.org.uk (places and people)
and found some Lazenby's there looking for other Lazenbys:
"searching for Ellen Lazenby who married Francis Atkinson, they had a son, Francis born in 1845 they lived in Middleton Tyas."
Maybe they are related to you?

THere are lots of Middletons.

3 in W Yorkshire and 1 in N Yorkshire

Middleton: 20 miles west of Leeds,
Middleton: 20 miles south of Middlesbrough

My Lazenbys moved to the Middlesbrough area about 1868  I think...they lived in Eston, Grangetown, Stockton,
Middlesbrough, Lazenby, etc....maybe yours are connected there?

Mary Jane's father was a Thomas Coates, and he was born about 1822-24.  His father was Robert.

Mary Jane married a Henry Lazenby (1848)
Henry's father was Cross Lazenby (1818)

They all lived in East Yorkshire:  Harpham, Beeford, Atwick,
Skirlaugh,

Hi Pam:

I am looking for a Palmer family in England...know little, only that they lived in "the south of England' and emigrated to Canada in 1856.

The dates you extrapolate for 1841 seem to fit MY family very closely.

John...born 1814    wife: Elizabeth born 1820, 
(I don't have  an Elizabeth...she may have died young?)
William, born 1839,  and James....mine is born in 1844.

This family moved to Canada and had two more children: Henry and Mary Ann.

Its a long shot...I just wondered...Harpham.. in Canada

Saw your query about John Palmer and family...I too am trying to trace John Palmer...but a different family : he was born in 1814 (southern England) married an Elizabeth: b. 1820, had a son: William: c 1839 and also James : b Feb 26, 1844.......they moved to Canada .........in 1856

I note that your William emigrated in 1856 also.--to Us through Canada.

I haven't been able to find any information on the ship they travelled on.
Did you happen to find any?

I am rying to find  ancestors  in England. 
 
JOHN PALMER'S Family emigrated to Canada in 1856:
so they should be in 1851 census.

All we know is that they were "from the south of England, probably Devon"

John Palmer    born:   1812-1814
Elizabeth         born:    c 1820                wife
William             born:   1837-38              son
James              born:    Feb.26, 1844      son

Trying to find information on the parents of a Mary Jane Coates   -- born in Atwick/Skirlaugh in 1853.

She married Henry Lazenby (from Beeford, ERY) in 1871, and they lived in Eston, NRY.

Mary Jane's  father was Thomas Coates -- born in Atwick between 1810 and 1833.  Her Mother was Frances (Fanny)...  possibly Garton was her maiden name.

They would have been married before 1853...around Atwick.

I would like to learn more on Thomas Coates:Birth/Marriage
