Thanks for guidance Shane - have just received the copy marriage cert from GRO, Roscommon & as you said, it does give far more information than the Church Marriage Record purchased from IFHF/rootsireland.ie - which makes me wonder how many other of IFHF Church Records I have purchased ( and I have spent quite a lot of euros on their site whilst researching my Irish CARPENTER/KELLY tree!) - have been a waste of money!!
Although I have used Family Search site for the LDS indexed records, I often find I come up with either nothing or far too many possibles when using their site-perhaps I am not using it efficiently? But I may well try again on Family Search for civil records which might answer a few incomplete enquiries to date.
The civil marriage Cert from GRO does indeed show GGF's father as MICHAEL KELLY & now I am able to confirm GGGF as MICHAEL.
It would mean that GGF PATRICK was born in 1834 approx- do you think I have any chance of getting details for GGGF MICHAEL ( ie his DoB, marriage, death ,his children etc) - or am I hoping for too much!!?
Regards, Liz
