Sorry for not replying earlier, I have only just become aware of your post.
Yes, I am still looking for information surrounding my Grandfather. I do have a few more clues since I originally posted back in 2006 but other than 1 photo circa 1912 I know nothing of his movements post 1900. Perhaps if we can establish if they were both in company over that period we can uncover more detail.

Thanks for your message.
You may recall that we exchanged messages in details back in 2006 regarding James Edmonds without coming to any conclusions. I have let it rest for a while and recently decided to try and pick up the search again.
Other than successfully locating his grave whilst visiting London in 2006 we do not have any other new clues.
Confusion still reigns as far as names given on children's birth certificates and James death certificate. It appears that in those days, people lodging details for both births and deaths certificates were taken in good faith and they did not have to substantiate details tendered.
In desperation I have posted this photo as a last resort hoping someone out there may recognise something. I have also posted on Facebook and Ancestry.com.
I am confident this photo is exclusive to the Edmonds family and friends and does not include any Knights.

London and Middlesex / Edmonds/Edmunds Family circa. late 1920,s

Is it possible that anybody out there recognises this photo or any of the people depicted. I believe the core family are Edmonds/Edmunds from East London circa. late 1920's. He was thought to have been a traveller with Colonial Home Stores. Any suggestions of other sites to display this photo would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi Jeannie.

Sorry, no 'Best' Family on the passenger list for 28th April 1959.

Where are you up to with your research into your family history? Where are you doing your research? I am assuming that you are not in Australia yourself.

Give me some more details, happy to look through the Australian records for you.

Cheers

Hello Sandra

I have checked thru all my Purnell records. I do have record of descendants of the Hampshire Purnell Family settling in Wales but all North, (Bangor, Anglesea, etc) and no record of a William Rogers. My research is on going and I will certainly let you know if any connection becomes apparent.

Hi Sandra

I am primarily researching the Purnell families of Hampshire and IOW.

I am aware that there is also a large family base around Clutton and Gloucestershire in general. I have been in touch with several researchers of the Gloucestershire Purnells but at the moment I have not been able to establish any link.

Happy to help in any way that I can.
