Australia / Samuel Jenkins Rees - Help required from marriage index
« on: Friday 04 May 18 15:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi, as part of my research I have a missing relative Samuel Jenkins Rees who was born in Lampeter Wales on 18th July 1879. He is my great grandfather and disappeared from the family following the birth of my grandmother in 1901.

I have received a potential hint with a similar name in the Australian Marriage Index of a Samuel Jenkins Rees marring a Mary Mitchell but I don't have access to these records and wondered if someone would be kind enough to get me further details of this marriage to determine whether it is the same person.

Any help or information would be appreciated

I am trying to find out more about Edward Charles Benney d.o.b 21/9/1907 born in Illogan Cornwall.

I have found him on the 1911 census as an inmate age 3 at Illogan workhouse.

I have also found records at the National Archives for his time in the Royal Navy Reserves Service

I haven't been able to find a birth record for him any where.

I believe he married Florence Hutchens in 1929 and died in 1977 in St Ives.

I have located him on the 1939 register living in St Ives with his family

I would like to identify his mother and father if possible but have exhausted all the avenues open to me at the moment.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated

Can anyone help in deciphering the attached picture taken from the 1861 census for Aberdare

It is an occupation and the individual involved (my GGGrandfather) is recorded on the 1871 census as  a Railway Engine driver.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Kevin
