I don't know which church they followed but Samuel Smyth (the son) was married in 1841 and that marriage is listed in the OPR - which I'm assuming is the Church of Scotland. I'll take a look at the PRONI website and see if their records can be accessed on-line. Many thanks for your help.

Antrim / SMYTH/SERVICE family in or around BALLYNURE
« on: Thursday 10 May 12 16:54 BST (UK)  »
Samuel Smyth and Elizabeth Service were my 4 x Great Grandparents and lived in Antrim in the late 18th century/early 19th century. They had two children (that I know of) - Samuel (b. about 1815 in Ballynure) and Robert (b. about 1818 in Ballynure). I am trying to find any information about this family in Antrim. How can I access Ballynure church records?

Samuel and Robert moved to Glasgow before the 1841 Scottish census. Samuel was my 3 x Great Grandfather and married my 3 x Great Grandmother, Margaret Roy, on 26 Dec 1841 in Glasgow.

Many thanks.

My goodness! Thanks for the link! Any idea if these families kept records of staff. My great uncle's profession was butler.

I'm looking for any information on Charles & Esther Hall. Charles Hall (b. April 1887 Coolnahinch, Kenagh, Longford) emigrated from Longford, Ireland to New York in April 1913. He married Esther (unknown maiden name, born in Finland c. 1899). They had three children (according to the 1930 census) - Charles, John and Frances. The latest information I have on them is 1942 when Charles Hall (father) registered for WW2. At that time they were living on 82nd Street, NY. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

I'm trying to get information on when Halls first arrived in Kenagh, Longford. The earliest I have is 1820. Where did they come from? Did they come from England? Can anyone help please? Thanks.
