Technical Help / Re: Email Hijacked
« on: Monday 13 September 10 00:20 BST (UK)  »
Thank you so much for your support :).  It is a horrible thing to happen to anybody and I feel so angry and violated  :o.  It is good to know that I am not alone and as for getting help from Windows live, quite frankly that is a joke.  I did manage to get it back once and changed the password, but that didn't help much for the next time I tried I was still locked out.  I am so glad I am maybe a little old fashioned and don't do any banking on the net.  If they had managed to get into that it would have been even more of a mess.  Once again thanks for your support - it has helped put a little smile back on my face.

I look after a very clever little boy one day a week and he was there when all the phone calls came from relatives checking to see if I was home and I had not been mugged.  He was sitting on my knee as I tried to login to my mail and unable to do so and he realised something was wrong and told me that a very BAD BAD man (person) was making me so sad and he would get his dad to sort the hijacker out (bash him hard on the nose).  When I spoke to his parents he had told them all about it and he was so lovingly supportive that the fact he thought his dad could sort things out.  That did make me smile.

Technical Help / Email Hijacked

My Hotmail.com email has been hijacked.  I have tried to change my profile information but when I put my old password in the colum heading "Current password" and I put in the old one and I click change, it wont accept it.  It has been an absolutely nightmare trying to get my hotmail, com address back and though I have been in contact with Windows Live Solutions I am still no further on.  My new email is; (*)

In advance, many thanks for any help

Scotland / Archibald MacTavish & Jean Campbell
« on: Friday 23 April 10 23:15 BST (UK)  »
A very old thread but ..

I have Archibald McTavish b1771(?)  with Parents Edward and Flora Currie siblings Duguld, Ann and Elizableth

"Erected by Dugald MACTAVISH, smith at SKIPNESS and Catherine CAMPBELL his spouse in memory of his father Edward McTAVISH late smith at Skipness who was a charitable and respected man who died July 1801 aged 71 years; also Flora CURRIE his mother who died Nov 1823 aged 84 also of their children Archd, Betty and Ann This stone marks the family burying place."

Hi there.  My Archibald was born 1711 and died 1777, so I don't think there is a match as I have no McTavishs in the Skipness area at all.  It would have been great if we had a match, but unfortunately not.  Thanks for letting me know anyway.

Regards

« on: Wednesday 16 September 09 21:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi Michael

Bingo :D.   That could possibly be mine.  Do you have anymore info on them?  All I know is that their oldest son was born in Dumfries in 1851  I took it since they married in Bellingham I took it that they stayed there until they moved to Dumfries.  Would love to see what you have, please.

Hello Kate and Otto

Thank you for your mails.  I already found Patrick's marriage cert and it only gives his father's name as Bernard.  Why is the mother not mentioned  after all she did give birth to Patrick!! ;).  I am afraid I am well and truely stuck as to getting further information.  Are there any census available that would give more information about the family and where would I find them??

Is there some kind person who would do a look up for me please.  I am looking for a marriage certificate for John Henry and Alice Cameron (may be Alice Carmody) who married Jan 1847, Bellinghame, Northumberland.  They later moved to Dumfries, Scotland.  In advance, many thanks,

Kind regards

« on: Tuesday 13 January 09 22:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Looking for information about Anthony McCluskey, b. 24 June 1879, Annaghbeg, Dungannon, Tyrone.  His parents were Patrick McCluskey and Sarah McKeown.  Anthony married Helen McNab Easton 24 Jan 1919, Blackford, Perthshire, Scotland and he died 4 Dec 1935, Cottage Hospital, Dumfries, Scotland.  His grandfather may be Bernard McCluskey.  This is all I have on him.
Is there anyone who can help me in finding out more about his ancestors in Ireland. please.

Kind regards
Kirsten

Hi William

Of course it was you and once again I am very grateful for ALL the help, pictures and information you found for me.  I am in the middle of another branch of the family and I think I need to unscramble my brain cells (what there is left of them :).  I hope you are not mad at me.  How are you doing?

Best
