Dublin / Kersey or Kearsey of Swords Co.Dublin
« on: Wednesday 21 August 19 21:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am looking for information on the Kersey/Kearsey family from Swords, Dublin.  My gg grandmother Eliza Kearsey married Michael McGrane in 1874 Balrothery, Ireland.  Her father is listed as William Kersey on the marriage cert occupation Labourer. There is a William Kersey of swords who married a Jane Russell in 1844.  I found an Eliza Kersey born in Swords Jul 1852 to William and Jane HUGHES?  (I wonder is this Jane Hughes the same as Jane Russell  ???) .

Any information on the Kersey/Kearsey's of Swords is much appreciated.

Thanks  ;)

Margaret O’Sullivan married Patrick Doyle in Rathdown, Dublin 1941. Patrick’s address of 14 St Joseph’s Terrace in Athy confirms this is correct on the cert.  Her father is listed as John O’Sullivan (farmer) address 12 Beaufield, Skilorgan it looks like?? Don’t know where this is in Kerry.

I now think Mary’s husband was Thomas Looney married 1928 Father listed as John O’sullivan Address mullin

And Hannah’s was Edmund Keane married 1939 father listed as John Sullivan address mullin

I’m not 100% sure on these marriages but it’s the closest I can find for now.

I still can’t find Margaret’s birth or death records but will keep looking.

Thanks,

Thanks makes sense with the grave I just realised that in 1940 my grandmother Mary Anne daughter was 7mths pregnant at the time of her death  her child born in the March then died that December so a hard year then followed by the death of two of Mary's sons George & Thomas Kelly in 1942 I think these are both in buried in Glasnevin so I'll get their Grave numbers next time I'm there,  I'm presuming if they were in Mary's plot they would have mentioned that yesterday.

So Mary listed one other son in William's military records James who was aged 1 and 1/4 in 1923. I can't find anything on James Kelly yet.

Thanks

Hi all,

Today I thought I had a break through finding Mary Anne Kelly burial place, I went to Glasnevin Cemetery and although I had DOD I did have an address and low and behold I got a grave number I was so excited.  I walked a bit to find ML64 the final resting place of Mart Anne to be saddened to see not even a headstone.

I now have a DOD as 10/01/1940 Also Glasnevin  said there was no owner of the grave as I asked where there any other names in record and they said no what does this mean?

TIA

Hi,

Would anybody have access to the following Military records, my g.g.grandfather Michael Kelly served in the 54th Foot/3rd Foot he was born in 1840 in Dublin, his service number was 481 (I got this from one set of records that i obtained but there looks to be others with this name and number).

I recently got my g.grandfathers marriage cert and his father Michael is listed as deceased this was in 1905 (Dublin), his mother is listed as Mary Carroll also deceased.  I am looking for information on this branch of the family.

TIA
