Wicklow / Re: Kilmacanogue Cemetery

I don't think there are any surviving records from the old graveyard, as far as I know they were destroyed/lost. You can contact parish office Mon, wed or Fri and maybe they'd be able to help.

Looking for the place my gt gt grandad is burried, ive had a look on the glasnevin website but cant find him so Im guessing he's burrried with his first wife Sofia Loton. They attended St. Marks church of Ireland. his DOD is 17th June 1930 and address was 42 Upper Dorset St. Does St Marks still exist? and was there a graveyard for it? TIA

Sorry for delay, just busy busy this week! Dont know much about Eugene Carroll, I'm trying to find out more about him myself. He was married to Joanne Smith, his daughter Sarah is my line, she was married to William Neill and they lived on Carrigoona Commons/Glencormick but she married my gt gt grandfather,George Doyle in 1881. I cant find him anywhere either if anyone has any ideas? Good luck with your search!

Hi again, I'm still looking for birth records for Kathleen Curtis. I've been into GRO but the Kathleen there was not the one I'm looking for, there is one on roots Ireland but dates and parents names are wrong however the father is a brass finisher which is a little strange. The date I have is dec 1894 but the more I search the more I wonder about this. Also still looking for Edward Curtis birth record, again searched but cannot find him, his father was also Edward. Would really appreciate any help!!

Well I owe you an apology, I feel like a prize idiot!! I thought the house was the sugarloaf...should've gone to specsavers:) in my defense, I showed it to a few people and they agreed it was the sugarloaf, I printed it off and enlarged it and only then I realized it was a house. Im very sorry, guess I don't know it as well as I thought:) good luck with your searching!

Hi Anne, it's in Wicklow and not too far from Wexford! Hopefully your relatives can help you out. If I get a chance I'll have a look myself for you and try to pinpoint it, will keep you posted:) I was flying back from London recently and i have to say I'm not the best flyer so when I see the sugarloaf on the landing approach it always makes me happy, like I said, I'd know it anywhere!!

The Lighter Side / Re: Odd Forenames in your Family?
« on: Wednesday 23 May 12 12:37 BST (UK)  »
I have found a Linus Cletus Clementinus Hunt, the poor child!! All his brothers and sisters had normal names like Agnes and Patrick and Mary. I did google the names as I thought they were in Latin but couldn't find much only that they were names taken by a few different popes. If anyone can shed any light, I'd be most grateful. I'm sure poor Linus had a hard time in school. My dad has some interesting middle names...John Sylvester Pius...:)
