Hi looking at the family in 1851 with Gwenillian b c 1847 they had also an Evan 8 Rees 6 the same family in 1841 had a Mary 9 Margaret 6 Elizabeth 3 John 1, their is a possible Jane baptised 4th September 1845 Llansadwrn Father Lewis Mother Margaret?

Cannot locate as of yet a baptism for Gwenillian, but the likely marriage of Rees/Margaret is:-

Rees Lewis to Margaret Jones 21st April 1830 Llandingad by banns
they both made their mark, and the witnesses were David Price & Daniel Nicholas

Carmarthenshire Lookup Requests / Any record for Rees Lewis of Llanfairsbryn
« on: Tuesday 07 April 15 20:04 BST (UK)  »
I would like to verify information about Rees Lewis ( b.  1806 ). farmer living on a farm in Llanfairbryn, Carmarthenshire with his wife Margaret ( I do not know her last name ). v I believe that he may be my great, great grandfather. His son John, my great grandfather and his son Evan Lewis of Glamorgan, my grandfarther and finally my father Ivor Lewis. The confusion come with the child of Rees and Margaret as Gwenllian. When I look up some sources they record the children as Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, and John ( my great grandfather )...no Gwenllian. It seems I might be following the wrong Rees. I would appreciate any help you could give me on this matter. Thank you for your consideration. Nesta Morrison

Thanks. I seem to be annoying you so will give it for now. It is not a lark....it is a genuine interest in my Welsh background as being a first generation daughter of parents from the Welsh valley of Glamorgan. My parents are buried in Trealaw cemetery and I have been there to bury them. Thanks for your help. I will not bother you any more. Nesta

I have been to to toooooooooooo many sites to answer your question but......if they are not his parents and you can find the correct ones I would be entirely grateful as right now I will only deal with you at this site as the "stuff" from other sites is driving me crazy and I have ( last with Cristbow in 2012) found that you are the best to deal with. I understand that a John Lewis must be like finding a needle in a haystack but if it can be done I know that you can do it.   Nesta

Got a message about a merged topic. I do not know what that means. I used this site a few years ago and it seems different now but am trying to learn my way around. I thank you for your help and wondered if it is possible to get a baptism or birth cert. of Reese and or Margaret to nail it down abit more. If I can get one for John Elias, the son, it would give me the parents, right?. Hope I do not drive you nuts. Nesta

Thank you for the info on Reese and Margaret Lewis. I would like to have help looking up a marriage certificate , if possible , or perhaps baptism records for John, their son. Nesta3909

I am interested in finding the father and mother of John Lewis, born 1840 in Llangdingat, Carmarthenshire, Wales. He was a retired railway Plate-layer and married twice. His first wife was Mary Ann in 1861 and his second wife was Blanche Morgan in 1879.
