Mayo / Help Please! Marriage John Lang & Bridget Devany 1833
« on: Thursday 06 December 18 15:52 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Please could anyone help?
I have found a marriage for 2 of my ancestors:

John Lang and Bridget Devany on 10 February 1833. I do not know which church this is from. The only information I have from the register is that it was in Kilmoremoy. Also Bridget Lang is listed on the register as coming from Smashee. Could this be Quignashee?
If anyone has any information regarding the parents of either of these please could you help?
I believe from the UK Census returns that they both listed their DOB as 1813.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Darren

Hi,

I guess I may be. I do not have the register, only a transcription.

Hi,

Yeah, I realise about the dates but without finding her on the 1871 Census it's difficult to be sure. Her parents names are, unfortunately, what I'm trying to find out.

This is the Sarah I found.

However, the dates are out (but not by much). Annie is more than likely Sarah's sister. But whether it's the correct Sarah I still don't know.

Hi,

I am trying to trace Sarah Ramsden. She appears on the 1891 Census as Sarah Holmes along with her husband George Holmes (B:1861) in Sheffield. The census lists Sheffield as the place of Birth for both of them.

There is a marriage to a George Holmes to a Sarah Ramsden in Sheffield in 1882 on BMD.

However, I can't find her on the 1881 or 1871 Censuses. There is a Sarah Ramsden on the 1881 Census but this gives her DOB as 1863. Also I can't find a record of a birth for a Sarah Ramsden in Sheffield in either 1865 or 1863.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Darren

Me too  :)

It looks likely that the Rose Lydia born in Kettering, had my Rose in 1888, gave her away for adoption prior to 1891, then married in 1893.

Good work !

Hi,

I am trying to trace the parents of Rose Lydia Saddington. She was born Sept. 1/4 1888 in Gainsborough. She appears on the 1891 Census (Rose, no Lydia) as a boarder living with a George and Emily Foster. By the 1901 Census she is living with the same family but appears as Adopted.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Darren
