Can anyone advise whether the local dialect did not sound “h” and it is a derivative of Henderson.

Thanks for your reply I have informed my fellow South Tawton Family History (Facebook) member of your response.She appears to have exhausedly investigated this problem and is beginning to question her results.It appears to me that it would be beneficial if you both cooperated.

I am a member of South Tawton Facebook group and a fellow member is grappling with this identical problem may I ask on her behalf if you have resolved this problem. She is happy that John and Anne Skinner are her direct ancestors however it is the other parental John Cooper which is puzzling

The South Tawton Family History website contains details of the ship on which this family migrated to Australia. Mary is plain Mary not Mary Ann
