Hi,
I am wondering why you want to know about the 17 year gap........have I missed something reading this post but you have him on the Census' in England, you have his birth, his parents, his marriage in Australia, his death, I am supposing you have children of his marriage.......I am not sure why you are wanting to know about the 17 years in between.......I cannot see the importance of this.....as I said have I missed something reading these posts?

Am looking for anyone connected with FLOWERS family in South Australia. Descendants of two brothers, George and Charles FLOWERS arrived SA in 1850's.
George's only son Joseph moved to Broken Hill, NSW
Charles' son stayed in Port Broughton district.
Would like to contact any FLOWERS descendants.

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.
My apologies Cando for not replying to the other request......first time back to check the replies today so will just send my reply here.

Some info of him we have is:
John Joseph Knevett born Kooringa, South Australia on 8 April 1853 to Joseph Knevett and Mary Mealy.
We have him listed as deceased a few months later but cannot find the referenced for him.
A chance find on the Internet by my mother found him listed in the 1901 Electoral Roll (according to Ancestry.com) at Cloncurry.
His brother (who is our direct ancestor) we know moved to Queensland around the same time, so we know think that the two of them moved from South Australia to Queensland.

Bye for now,

Darren for his mum

Armed Forces / Query please
« on: Tuesday 16 October 07 12:54 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am interested in the overseas military index which dates back to 1791. Can someone advise where I could view this index (I am in Australia). Or is there someone who has access to it that could look up Joseph KNEVETT (or KNEVITT or KNYVETT). He was born circa 1804 and arrived in Australia October 1829.  His whereabouts before arriving in Australia or his birthplace are unknown and I am just wondering if perhaps he was in the armed forces.

Thankyou,

I once met a Richard HEAD, the New Soouth Wales Minister of Racing or something like that. When introduced to him I said G'day Dick, he smiled at me.

I wonder how many families by the name of Head had a Richard in them?   ::)  .....dee
