Durham Lookup Requests / Re: miller family in newbottle county durham

Will follow through with the marriage certificate. I did start with the 1891 census and have been working my way back with the information I already had from existing family. My uncle did a family tree of sorts, but he only looked at the male line with John and Robert, women were of no consequence apparently. I feel that there are a lot of mistakes in his tree because of this. These two names, do tend to run in the family, John and Robert. The family left newbottle around 1928, some family still remained there till they passed away.

Thanks thought marriage certificate a good idea. Will do this, but will continue to see if anyone knows more about the family in newbottle, love anecdotal stories and history. My pop belonged to the boys club in newbottle, have a lovely photo of him in a body builder pose. your help has been appreciated.

I linked Jane Patts through 1841 Census by address Kelloe Long Law, this was the address given on the 1851  Census for the family, Jane's birthplace being Kelloe ;D

Hi,
date that I can verify is my great grandfather Robert Miller, born 1859, married to Emma Kershaw between jan 1880 and march 1880. Thinking his parents are John and Jane Miller, taking this from the 1871 census, Robert is 12years. John and Jane could both have been born abt 1821, John at muckleswick, Jane at Kelloe, not verified. Thanks, any help much appreciated.
