World War Two / Re: Royal Artillery

My mother (his daughter) was born 19-02-51/52 her birthname was Sheena Chapman - and I believe that she was born in Mitchum, Surrey - she is still alive but I do not know where to find her. My grandmother who was my grandfathers partner was Ellen Marshall Morrow (birthname), and although she used the name Chapman, I don't actually think they was married - she died in Oxford in November 1992 - her surname then was Cathcart/Caithcart. I was given an old picture of my grandfather by nans sister, and he was in uniform, I recognised the cap badge as being Royal Artillery.

So as you can see, my search is proving to being almost impossible thus far.

Many thanks for your response.

World War Two / Royal Artillery

I have not seen my grandfather named Charles Chapman since a boy, and I am sure that he long since passed away. His line is the only one missing from my family tree. I don't have a birth date for him, but I know where he lived, which was Streatham London. After having trawled many sites, I have found 2 possible birth dates, which is;

3rd April 1920
25 Nov 1919

However one thing I am sure of, is that he served with the Royal Artillery. Is there any way that anyone can discover whether there is a Charles Chapman who served in the Royal Artillery who matches one of these birth dates?

All I know is that he lived in Mitcham Surrey for a while and settled in Streatham were he was living when he died (I assume).

He had a daughter called Sheena and she was born in Mitcham around 1952. His wife or partner was named Ellen.

he had a thick cockney accent if thats any use. I hadn't seen him since 1982 so I can't tell you much more.

Renfrewshire / Death of John Morrow
« on: Monday 30 January 06 18:05 GMT (UK)  »
I have obtained the following information from St.Mirins Cathedral in Incle Street;

According to our records the only John Morrow, whose death is recorded in
this Parish, lived at 27 Dundonald Road, and he died on 5 October 1968.

I had a great-grandfather of the same name who would have been born in Paisley around 1888 to the parents Ellen & Thomas Morrow.

Can anyone help me by finding out if this could be the same John Morrow. So far I have had a nightmare getting any info on this family.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to trace the Morrow and Marshall line. I can't find Ellen and Thomas' place of birth within Ireland, their death details or anything. It's like they disappeared.......can anyone help?

The only thing I may have that may be a starting point is that i believe they were catholic as their son John got married in St.Mirren RC Church in 1911 to Mary Allison.

If anyone can help I would be eternally gratefu.l
