Thanks for all the replies.

Seems this death certificate is not my 3rd GGmother, I missed that 1871 entry.  It does raise the question of who this Eliza Wallwork is.

There was a Midway farm in Gorton according to some records but when should we stop speculating?

If you gave more details, Altyrocket, e.g. a name to check in censuses and  burial records, an age and the name of the informant, it might help to find the place.

The informant was Joseph Ogden his residence was also Midway Openshaw. The deceased was my 3rd Great grandmother Eliza Wallwork (nee Howarth). I have census information, but not any burial information.

Thanks for the replies.

I get the feeling this is some sort of institution (not Workhouse, checked that out) as the reportee for the death was not a family name I am aware of, also there were close member family members still living in the area.

This has posed more questions than answers !

Does the certificate give Midway Openshaw as the address of the informant  :-\.

Who was the informant

Hi,

I have a death certificate which has the the place of death recorded as "Midway Openshaw". I cannot find anything on Google for this location.

Any info on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Altyrocket.
