Surrey / Re: PILBEAM May Young + William John HOOPER

Thank you Christine & everyone else, it is a long time since I used RootsChat and I have forgotten how to reply to the individual people.  Thanks everyone for your replys ,
I’ll check the 1891 Census again.  I know the FOWKES family were part of my family.  Wonder who wrote FOWKES on the census was it a person called DAY?
I have purchased the Marriage certificate as Kerryb suggested and No Father [UNKNOWN]  She is May Young PILBEAM on the Marriage.
Interestingly one of the HOIOPER children has Young as her second christian name.
Checking the 1881 census again see if I can see anything that stands out with the person who put the FOWKES name on it.
Thanks everyone.
I hope to be able to work out individual replies somehow.

No I can’t find a Birth for May Young PILBEAM either, I have a May Young 'Nurse child' listed with a family in the 1881 census. The family is Alfred GALE and Harriet and her children named PILBEAM she was a widow and remarried an Alfred GALE and they had children together they are on the 1881 census together with GALE children and a PILBEAM child and this May Young Nurse child.  Since seeing this Census I have been trying to work out who this May Young is ‘nurse child’ is she an illegitimate child of one of the PILBEAM girls?  Or a relatives child whom Harriet is wet nursing. Harriet has a pone year old son on the same census and the Nurse child May young is 1 year old as well.  I am wondering if the marriage I found for May Young PILBEAM to William John HOOPER is in fact this ‘Nurse Child’ May young ?

Is there anyone who can help with this MARRIAGE please?  Are there any Parish Registers or Banns online where I can see who the parents of both these people are?   Or can someone please help with a look-up maybe someone has a disk or something with these marriages.  Thank you very much.  TRISH

Thanks Keyboard, well that won’t be John PILBEAM then.  I learnt the other day that Census for Asylums Army etc., only have the initials of people showing on the census page.  Maybe I need to search for J.P. ?  Anywhere near Maidstone where  he was married in 1839 to Ann CRAMPTON.   Been hunting for 1841 Cencus for J.P. ONLY I found some but they are so so faint, they are unreadable.  Tried to Enhance the image but no Joy.

Did the army go offshore from England somewhere during that time? [1841 period.]

Hi Keyboard86, Emily Pilbeam CRAMPTON did marry Arthur Henry CLARKE I have that Marriage Certificate.
1841 British Census-South Mims, Mims, South, Barnet, Middlesex, England.
Ann PILBEAM + Emily [not of that parish]                                                                                                        1851 Census John PILBEAM + Ann + baby Emelie .                                                            1861 Census Ann PILBEAM Nee: CRAMPTON is living with her brother William CRAMPTON                                                                                                             1871 Ann PILBEAM Nee CRAMPTON is with her daughter’s family Arthur Henry CLARKE                                                                                                                       Ann died in 1880 so nothing for the 1881 census.

Census for John PILBEAM
1851 Cencus  John PILBEAM + Ann + baby
1861 Census John Pilbeam + Harriet BROWN + 3 children
John died in Feb 1871 No nothing on that years census.
Yes I am stumped too, I looked through all the army census for Maidstone Army Barracks nothing there for John PILBEAM, or various other spellings of the name PILBEAM.   I also looked at the Asylum nothing there, as well as the Navy Census all in Maidstone nothing in the Navy Census either.  I looked in Maidstone as they were living in Maidstone when they were married in The Parish Church in Maidstone in 1839. I thought they might still be in Maidstone but maybe not.   Maybe I will look around the area where Ann was living in the 1841 Census 'South Mims’?
