Does anyone know of a Clayworks or quarry in Bradshaw that was once owned by a Mr Briggs (sorry got no first name). He was married to my gt gt grandmother it was either her first or second marriage, she married my gt gt grandfather John Sutcliffe. Her name was Sarah Lambert she married John in 1885. My nan told me a few stories but some contradict so sorry not much to go on. Not even sure if Bradshaw is full of quarries so any info is much appreciated even if to confirm a no go.
Thanks

Thank you. Found it on some old maps dating from 1933 - 1948 but not on the 1956 one so must f been demolished in 1952. I even found another place i was looking for "Far Fold" which is not any up to date maps but is on the older maps, looks like where the N Halifax Grammar Sch is now!
Thanks so much for your help

Hi
Does anyone know anything or where a "Barracks Farm" in/near Illingworth was/is? My Gt Gt Grandfather John Sutcliffe lived there until his death in 1901, states on 1901 census that it was No 2 Barracks farm.
Any info is much appreciated!
Thanks

I spoke to the lady who lives at number 3 and she says there are 3 cottages there, 1, 2 and 3. Nothing has been knocked down or added to the cottages. The cottages are in a X shape. 1 and 3 the end ones. 2 and 4 were the ones running vertical which has now been made into 1 cottage (no 2) but is very small.
Thanks for your help anyway. much appreciated.

Ah thank you Maurice. Would make sense, because they are quite big cottages!
Thanks again

My Gt Grandfather born in 1893 lived at no 4 Tedstill Cottages, as stated on the 1911 census. I know no 4 doesn't exist anymore, does anyone know why? or what happened to it? and when? Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks
