Hi Jessica:
I found the marriage of Ann Malcolm McCash to James Galloway July51872.This was three years before she left for New Zealand. As you already know William and Isabella(Malcolm)McCash were her parents.
Is it possible to find their death certificates from the place they lived in Inergargill New Zealand.      : Regards: Margaret   :)

Canada Lookup Requests Completed / Re: Help wanted re Ball ancestors arrival in Canada

Hello Peckham:
I would like to confirm that Alice and Albert did live at 1430 King street Preston,as I can see the backyard of the house from my kitchen window.  The house was purchased by their neighbours brother by the last name of Burr. Mr Burr sold the house and it is now a Doctors office. I do believe Alice and Alberts grandchildren still live in the Cambridge area. My brother recalls playing hockey with a John Ball that lived at that address. We are also aquainted with a Wendy(Ball)Chamberlain who may be of some help with the answers to your search. At this time she is away on a six week vacation so it will be a little while until I can get back to you.

             Regards: Margaret

Hello Suey:
In most cases,if the child is a male he is given his fathers surname. If the child is a girl, she is given her mothers surname. Most all children are given a biblico name.
   a)James is a biblico name.
b)Lowther may be his fathers first name or a grandparents last name. Generaly though a child,s second name is his fathers first name.
c)Rosa is the surname of his mothers father.
d)Carvalho is the fathers surname name.

At a time when there was slavery in Brazil ,the children would be the property of the Master, therefore they would be baptised with his surname as their second name.

              Regards: Margaret

This information was taken from the CWGC casualty lists from WW1. The only one listed with that name. If it is your Ernest, the address of parents may be a lead.Good Luck.
