Hi all,

I would appreciate if someone could maybe work out the date of this photo of my relation Charlotte Hibbs or her daughter Rita Hibbs....also the later photo im sure is daughter Rita Hibbs and not sure on date either? Also I am thinking is the older coloured photo a younger pic of Rita Hibbs? what does everyone think?

So Charlotte Hibbs was born in 1871 and died in 1938 on the West coast of New Zealand
and daughter Rita Hibbs was born in 1903 and died in 1996 in Australia.

thanks for your help

Hi,

I would like some kind person to decipher what my ancestor did between 1853 and 1857 in the merchant Navy. I have this document and I cannot make out what it says, could someone please decipher it for me. The record I have tried numerous times to attach but I cannot do it. If members here have a subscription to findmypast.co.uk that could help me with the record. The image is found on this link

http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=tna%2fmsea%2fbtoth%2f4650219%2f00408&parentid=tna%2fbt116%2f2132404283%2f1&highlights=%22%22

or can be search for via searching for joseph butcher born 1835 in the world section under Demerara. It is the eighth one down the page and the record has the reference on the left side of the page BT 116/14.

thank you for taking the time to help me  :)

Sorry about the late reply, I really appreciate your effort Irene and are definitely spoilt for choice picking one to make into a painting. I think I will get both made into beautiful paintings. This website ceases to amaze me at the quality of the people on here willing to help others, it is fantastic!

thanks again,

Hi all,

I have been trying for a while to get a photograph of my great great grandparents turned into a oil painting. I was not given the full photograph and it was only half of it. I have put this photo on here before and someone kindly colored it and added bits to it. I have added the bottom half - like the legs and the dress. I really would like someone to help with making this photo fuller and more lifelike. I really would like the dress on my great grandmother to look more like a dress and not so fake and ghostly and also the whiteness around her removed and smoothed out. Also the chair created to have more definition and outline. If chair too hard just remove it and make it look like a hidden chair.  Also the bottom of the building should be there along with the ground. Also (if possible) could they be in a studio type of portrait background rather than in front of bricks? If you think the colors of the clothing need to be changed or modified please go ahead but bear in mind they were living in Edwardian England and they were lower class in 1910. Also would you be able to have a black and white version as well. I really would like this photo perfect so I can get someone to create a portrait to have as a family heirloom. your contribution is greatly appreciated.
 :)
thanks,

Jordan.

Hertfordshire / Faint surname in Hertfordshire, Please Help!
« on: Thursday 10 October 13 08:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am interested in speaking to anyone that could help and share the same ancestors as me on my Faint side. My earliest ancestor is Whalley (or Warley, Walley) Faint who was b. between 1731 to 1741? in Hertfordshire (I think) and married Sarah White on the 7/01/1761 in Gilston, Hertfordshire and was buried on the 23/07/1795 in Thundridge, Hertfordshire. I descend from his son William who was christened on the 20/04/1766 Thundridge, Hertfordshire. Going back further from Whalley has proved very hard and I have a few leads but nothing in concrete.

Thanks,

Jordan.

Hertfordshire / Harris surname in Little Hadham, Hertfordshire, Need help!
« on: Thursday 10 October 13 08:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am looking for anyone to help me with my Harris ancestors. My earliest ancestor is Samuel Harris born c.1756 in Albury, Hertfordshire (I think). He married 29/12/1779 in Little Hadham, Hertfordshire to Elizabeth Collison. I cannot find his christening record I suspect he is christened in Albury, Hertfordshire as that is what the marriage record says he is from. I would really like someone to look into this and find someone with the same family line. I can add further descent information if needed.

thanks,

Jordan.

Hi,

I am related to the Harris family in Hertfordshire in Little Hadham and would really like to talk to someone with the same interest like yourself. My family line in Little Hadham begins with the marriage of Samuel Harris and Elizabeth Collison on the 29/12/1779, are you related to them? What is your family line of Harris and who do you descend from?

Thanks,
