Aberdeenshire Completed Lookups / Re: Kirk Session Lookup - Auchterless or Forgue 1826

Scotlands people kirk sessions Forgue Kirk session does not cover 1826. (1781-1807) (1854-1891) are the closest. Auchterless kirk session (1789-1826) has an entry 16th April 1826 (image no 222) Gordon and Sim but is very hard for me to read

I found the flat stone but it very hard to read it was so weather beaten . The headstone is supposed to read Tarves

"Here lies the body of Robert Brechen late of Kinharrachie who departed this life 1st Apr 1797 aged 57... Also of Margaret Gaven his spouse d 17 May 1809 aged 80. Likewise of Margaret Adam spouse to George Breichen (sic) Surgeon in Kinharrachie who d 9 Mar 1811 aged 51. Also of the above Dr George Breichen d 9 Oct 1821 aged 77.

George and Margaret were married in Chapel of Garioch and lived in Ellon until their deaths. I cant seem to find anything on George being a Doctor or surgeon

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me I was looking for my ancestors who were buried in Tarves burial ground according to ANESFHS  MI`s I visited Scotland 5 years ago and I went to Tarves parish church and looked around the kirkyard looking for graves stone: 261 belonging to the following
Robert Brechen d:1 Apr 1797, his wife Margaret Gaven d: 17 May 1809
Margaret Adam   d: 9 Mar 1811, and her husband George Breichen  d:9 Oct 1821 would they be buried in the grounds of the parish church ?. Another member of the family visited Tarves recently and said there was some fairly newish markers in the church grounds and she didnt think the above would be buried here. My question is would there be another cemetery or kirkyard in Tarves that would fit there dates of death? any help would be appreciated

 Hi John
John Watt was Elizabeth Kelman Watt (Pirie) grandfather he was the informant at Elizabeth`s birth (20th Oct 1855)   I am not sure we have the same Elizabeth ? she went by previous names :
Birth certificate she is registered as Elizabeth Kelman Watt no fathers name, she was living 125 High street .Marriage (17 Oct 1891) she is Eliza Perie, her father Alexander Pirie  (carter) deceased she was living 142 High street. Death (4th Feb 1934) she is Elizabeth Kelman Allan her father is John Pirie (farm servant ) deceased. I have been unable to find her father. Elizabeth had 3 children first son born  William Watt Pirie born (18 Nov 1872)  living  52 Low street, he  was named after her grandfather William Watt. Elizabeth changed her name from Watt to Pirie some time between 1855-1872. My grandfather her 2nd son was named James Ogston Norrie (23 Jul 1875) living Poor lodgings house, New Pitsligo,  his father was William Norrie from New Deer.James moved to England before 1901 and was the informant on Elizabeth`s death certificate in 1934. Elizabeth had her 3rd and last child  a daughter named Barbara Jane Duncan Pirrie ( 29 Oct 1886) 121  High street, again no father name Barbara left for Manitoba and married in Winnipeg 1911

Hi Don  Elizabeth died of Cardiovascular degeneration. Did your great great grandfather Alexander  work as carter? Elizabeth lived at 125 High street when she was born.in 1891 she lived 145 High st,then 142 high street I just wish I had more information on her father on her death certificate which my grandfather James was present stated John as her father he was a farm servant so this is what confuses me ,did my grandfather think his name was John as Elizabeth`s grandfather was called John?
