Glamorganshire / Re: Alfred Thomas, Lord Pontypridd and Primavesi

Thank you Carol.  I hadn't found the marriage but I had found the census and this opens up all sorts of new possibilities.  Be glad to hear from the Primavesis too!  Think they may be easier to track than the Thomases.....

Glamorganshire / Alfred Thomas, Lord Pontypridd and Primavesi

I am related to this man, probably on the wrong side of the blanket!  He was the son of Daniel and Margaret (nee Davies) Thomas.
Alfred was born in the late 1830s and died a childless bachelor in 1927.  From relatively humble beginnings, he became an MP.  He was a friend of Lloyd George and was appointed a Liberal peer who did much good work in the Welsh valleys.  His sisters both married into an Italian family based in Cardiff, the Primavesis,
I would love to find out more about his parents because I think that one of them is connected with the Richards or Spickett families of Barry.
Help!

Jere
have just posted the following on your Ditcheat chat pages - having just come across this site while browsing the name Tryphena Higgins
Jere
I think we spring from the same stock in Ditcheat (my ancestor was Tryphena's grand daughter Martha Higgins aka Eades, illegitimate d. of Elizabeth Higgins who married Isaac Eades  6 months after her birth)and I have traced Tryphena Higginns/ Harvey/ Frances back a bit further and may also have gone further with Thomas Higgins, T's husband.  As we know most of the family ended up in the Welsh valleys (including Elizabeth) and my branch found their way to Barry.
Is this any good to you?
