The email address which you sent does not work, so I wonder if you would check it to make sure it is correct and I will try again. Blinshall

Henry Salmon is my 4 x grandfather. He married Mary Bishop 28 Feb 1793 in Chipping Norton were three of their children were born, moving to Witney between 1798 and 1800 where eight more children were born. Parish records St Mary the Virgin. My 3 x grandfather Horatio John being one of them. There is a suspicion that Henry may have been an inn keeper of an inn on Bridge St. Witney in 1814. He died 26 June 1852 and Mary died 23 December 1856. In the '41 and '51 census it states that Rock House was in Curbridge, a small village outside Witney, but visiting there in 2007 I could not find it. Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place! If you have discovered any other information regarding the Salmon family and descendants I would be very pleased to hear from you

Angus (Forfarshire) / Look up Constitition Rd Cty MI's re Isabella Mackay
« on: Saturday 08 August 15 02:40 BST (UK)  »
My gr gr gr Grandmother Isabella Mackay/McKay was buried at the Constitution Rd Cemetery in Dundee on the 23rd April, 1863.  The cemetery no longer exists as it was redeveloped in the 60's and remains were interred in the city's Eastern Cemetery.  She does not seem to appear in the ,list of headstones which were formerly at the Constitution Cemetery which, I think, was also know as the New Howff.  Does anyone have access to MIs from that cemetery or know of any other way to trace them.  I have some MI details for her, but need to check inscription to verify family research.  Very appreciative if anyone has information or ideas! Blinshall.

Thank you Linda J for your interest and suggestion.  As I am in Australia I have looked up the Dundee Archive email and will contact them to see if they can help me.  Regards, Blinshall.

Hi Forfarian, Thank you for the Howff link. I did look there but found nothing.  Loobylooayr found the inscription for me back in 2013 and I tried to contact her to revisit the site and to discover which cemetery it was.  However, I have sent her a PM, but she has not responded, perhaps out of action at this time.  The reason is that I want to check whether or not a Mary appeared on the MI as a daughter, because if my recent research on this elusive family is correct Isabella and Donald Mackay had a daughter, Mary, born 1813 at Melvich Sutherland or Caithness.   If Mary is there it would confirm my research via census etc. However there are many Mackays, Donald, Isabella, John or otherwise and I am trying not to jump to conclusions. Thanks for your help.    Blinshall.

Sorry, I do not know which cemetery.  She was living at Fenton's Close, Murraygate, Dundee at the time of her death if that is any help.  Thanks for your interest. Blinshall.

Angus (Forfarshire) / Look up on Angus MI's for Isabella Mackay

If anyone could look up the Angus MI's for Isabella Mackay, died in Dundee on 21st April, 1863, I would be grateful.  She was the wife of Donald and mother of John.  Recent research suggests she may have a daughter, Mary, who married a William Telford.  I  would like to make sure whether Mary was mentioned on the Mon. Inscription or not as if she was it would conclusively identify the family which I have traced through census info.  Thank you, Blinshall.
