Kent / Re: What was at Cale Hill?

Calehill is the name of the hundred and is also the name of the estate of the Darrell family. The workhouse was near westwell/hothfield which is within this hundred. People from all the local villages and ashford were placed in it. It later became a hospital and old peoples home and is now private housing.

Hi
I have quite a few Kingsnoths on my database for Pluckley 1508-1644 so do get in touch if there are people you want to know more about. It was quite an important family with some that kept the church accounts.

David I would like to find out how far you have got in your search for Thomas and Mary. My father is a grandson of John Camwy Evans and I would like to do the tree further back.
thanks

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: WILKINS burials, Little Chart
« on: Monday 24 March 14 13:25 GMT (UK)  »
I am doing a study of Little chart and would like to link any little chart family trees to aid my research. Please send me any info on the village or it's families. I have started a website to keep those with an interest in the village connected. Littlechart.weebly.com do you know what the occupations were or where in the village they lived?

Fascinating search and great help. I am in little chart and about to start collecting and collating little chart family trees. I would be interested in anything that says where your ancestors lived in the village. I hope to produce some maps, with house names etc and family history. I have  been collecting photos and postcards and have a book out soon( in an attempt to flush out more) if you are interested it's called Weald Villages. Will let you know if I find out more about your little chart connections.

Kent / Re: Chart Sutton
« on: Wednesday 26 February 14 15:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Don't think you can assume its Sutton. Great chart is south of Ashford and was a rather large settlement in the past. There were Butlers in Great Chart. These are names at weddings, not necessarily  the groom

#   Record Type   Marriage Date   Surname   Forename   County   Place   Name Found As

3   Marriages   17 Jun 1899   BUTLER   Richard   Kent   Great Chart
4   Marriages   28 Oct 1819   Butler   Thomas   Kent   Great Chart
5   Marriages   17 Jun 1899   Butler   Richard   Kent   Great Chart
6   Marriages   28 Oct 1819   BUTLER   Thomas   Kent   Great Chart

Good luck
