Technical Help / Short cuts
« on: Thursday 18 February 16 00:33 GMT (UK)  »
I have lost the ability to find them and maybe the contents of my "Favorites" I have them as a shortcut which up to yesterday I could select and click and up would come "OPEN" but today when I click on the icon it states "Restore Previous Version" I then select the Previous Version page on the same site and it states "There are no previous versions"  I am using Windows 10 (I wish I had not changed from Vista now!!) and Fire Fox as my browser (I think) Any answers please do not exceed words longer than one syllable as I am antique and get baffled when I get technical answers using computer speak.
Thank You Dennis

I am glad that I started this topic I think the site should be made compulsory for all users of Ancestry On some trees one gets a child being born in 1676 in Norfolk the next one in 1678 in Somerset then 1679 back in Norfolk which would be OK if they were not Ag Labs Who would think living in Australia that there are 34 parishes within a five mile radius of Little Snoring!!!. As an aside yesterday I went to see my surgeon in a hospital, door to door was 106 kilometers there and the same back !!!

Cambridgeshire / Re: Mother of Sarah Bangle

Thank you one and all especially pjm99 for taking the trouble to type all the names out. I think I was right in my assumption that Elizabeth Warrin was not the mother of the earlier children, Strange I already have Newman connections at Harston must count my  toes sometime!!!!
Thank you I am most grateful  Dennis

I agree and that is why I am hoping someone has the actual entry from the Harston parish register with the parents of Sarah so if the mother is given as Marey it sorts things out, Thanks Dennis

Cambridgeshire / Mother of Sarah Bangle
« on: Saturday 30 January 16 06:37 GMT (UK)  »
Sarah Bangle was baptized 20th September 1674 at Harston Cambridgeshire her father I have as Richard later on in the family it gives his wife as Elizabeth Warrin  the only snag is the couple did not marry until the 10th July 1683 at Cambridge St Boltoph according to Free Reg. Others on Ancestry have Elizabeth Warrin as mother to all the children going back to 1670. As I live in Australia I cannot drop into the SOG as that is where I think I obtained the details of Sarah's baptism. Has any one got access to the Harston parish registers to check it out for me?
In anticipation Thank you Dennis

Something is strange here Ruskie was right on the button but? the site is http://www.parloc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk so I call that up and sure enough it is the right one I click on "down load" and up comes a task " You have chosen to open a file which is a Binary File /717kb  Would you like to save the file I click on the box that asks "Save File" A arrow hurtles off and disappears into the right upper corner of the screen. far too quick for downloading and I cannot find it so where has it gone?  I have Windows 10 which I am having trouble with as I have not a clue about computers, So the question is what do I do? Words no longer than one syllable please
Thanks from a old Dennis

England / Help to find Parish Locator

Does anyone have the address of the site that has all the English Parishes listed,Not only does it list all the parishes but you can select a parish and then insert a distance say 10 miles and all the parishes within a radius of the original selected parish with the distance from it. I had this on my old computer for years and having just bought a new one the last one just gave up on me and all my sites went with it. I found it very helpful being in Australia and having miles between watering holes,
Thank you Dennis
