I found in the 1934 (Moreton, Harrisville) electoral roll on CD the same as Trish found for the 1936 roll.
Lucas, Beryl Llywelyn,  writer.
Lucas, Harry Eyre, writer.    Both living at Flinders.

I couldn't seem to find them any earlier than this.
However, I did also look for Harry Giles Eyre, in 1930 he is living in Randwick East in Sydney.
Details are  1930 South Sydney, Randwick East
Eyre, Harry Giles, 104 Mount St, artist.   and presumably his wife
Eyre, Elaine Violet,  secretary.
Next door at 106 Mount Street ("Yeronga")
Eyre, Violet Maud, home duties.
Eyre, Alwynne Eva, home duties.
Could these two ladies be daughters of Harry (Sr) - ie Harry Giles Eyre's sisters maybe?

Then in 1936 district name has changed to Watson, sub-dist Randwick East.
Harry Giles Eyre same address.  No wife.
and only Violet Maud Eyre living at 106 Mount St.

A few of these names could also give some clues.  Hope this helps.

Hi Trish,

Thanks once again for your offer, when ever your able to get there would be great, Hannah has been a mystery up until recently as I've only just discovered she married twice and is buried under her second hsbands name, just having her burial details is great but a headstone would certainly be a bonus.

Cheers
Nari

Hi Nari,
I've got Hannah in my family tree file - as I discovered her through Annette's line.  What was her maiden name and first husband's name?
If Trish can't get to Toowong anytime in the not too distant future, I've been wanting to go back  and investigate a couple of things further - maybe after Easter ...., but I'll check with you before then.
Regards Anita

Hi Anna
Thanks for sending me the link for the church.  Its beautiful.  It must have seemed extremely grand when it was first built back in the 1820s.   Even now, it seems rather imposing inside.  Never know, one day I might get to see it, but the website is great to find out about it.
I'll have to find out about some other churches around England, to see if I can find any others around to get a look.  The only one I significantly remember relating to family history from my visit  to the UK nearly 20 years ago, was a beautiful church at Upwey, Dorset, which had wonderful roses painted at the top of each archway.  I believe this church was where my GGG GM was married.
Thanks again for the information.      :D :D
Cheers Anita

Thanks Nanny Jan,
I'll check out the Dorset OPC site and look up some others.  At least I'll have an idea what info to expect now.

Hi Anna and Sue
I'm sure the IGI said the marriage took place at the Old Church St Pancras.   Handy to know where, just in case I ever get back to London (not likely unless a money tree starts growing down the backyard lol).  Sue, It was just too bad that the CD you have has St Pancras Soper Lane and not the Old Church.

I guess I'm just not destined to find out any more.    Although I will try and get a look at the IGI film/fiche sometime.   Maybe I'll get lucky!

The thing is, I am after a son of theirs - I haven't been able to find a birth in England (abt 1840), I know he emigrated to Queensland OZ in about the 1860s (records lost), he married in 1872 (have seen a copy of marriage certificate), he fathered 13 children, but can't find a death record.
So he wasn't born, he didn't die, but he married and fathered a stack of children - really weird eh!      ???   ???   ???

I just thought there may have been a clue with his father's whereabouts to start searching in various census (1841 & 1851) and possibly track him down that way.

Anyway, thanks for checking, and its always good to find out new things.  I'm sure it will come in useful sometime.

Cheers

Many thanks to Nanny Jan and Mean_genie, that helps explain a few things.   I do hope that it was by licence.
Nanny Jan, do you have a copy of one of those Dorset ones, as I'd love to have a look at an image if you can attach?
Thanks
Anita

marriage lic.details sometimes show "age about" or "widow of John Smith".
Who are you looking for?
Hi nahbois,
I'm looking for Joseph Frith (think it was spelt Freeth) and Ann Overy.    I'm more interested in Frith, as I have no details, and it might help if I knew his age or where he was born, as there were so many in England around the turn of the century.  I think I found Ann's birth/christening on the IGI.
Your help is much appreciated.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / St Pancras 1825 Marriage - Details ??
« on: Sunday 27 January 08 14:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hello and g'day from OZ,
I'm just wanting to find out what details there might be if I got a copy of the marriage register transcription for St Pancras 1825.

Does anyone know what it might have as info on it - will it state the ages of the bride and groom, and possibly where they were born or living at the time of marriage?   ??? ???

I've looked up the IGI and have recorded all relevant batch nos etc.  I have never got anything this early before (only  done 1837 onwards up to this point)....

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks nita
