Some information from the previous reply was removed, as the source was a website where it clearly states:

Please do not "Copy and Paste" such material in future, but just supply the link.

The Lighter Side / Re: Rootschat

The software change was necessary due to the increasing number of members, and the growing use of tablets, smart-phones and other hand-held devices.

A second method was mentioned here, but this is not generally available, so the posts were deleted.

Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1911 census for Roberts at Cesarea Llandwrog
« on: Monday 10 January 11 18:14 GMT (UK)  »
Request for 1911 census lookups are not allowed on Rootschat as such
lookups would be contravening the "Terms of Use" of the census sites.

For the same reason, such lookups are not allowed on other sites either.

RootsChat is free, we are all guests of the owners.
Sometimes guests abuse their privileges: therefore some of these privileges may be revoked.

The Common Room / Re: Could we be ROOTSCHART instead of ROOTSCHAT?

Please be aware that Trystan has a full time job and cannot react immediately to every query on RootsChat.

I am not speaking for him here, but please note:

Thursday 07 October 10 14:43 BST (UK)  Members: 129623  •  Posts: 2951548  •  Topics: 417720

This means that there could be nearly 3 million references to RootsChat in each of the many search engine databases
(Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc, etc, etc, etc).

This makes me think that it is very unlikely that the name will be changed.

I posted all this info for you, and the crabby people here removed it.

The "crabby people" on this site followed the standard RootsChat policy of
removing personal details of living people  and possibly living people (reply #17).

No other information was removed, unless by the poster herself.

Please remember to abide by RootsChat guidelines and Terms and Conditions

My posts suggesting we try to trace Julia Gillard's family tree were removed from rootschat as it was decided that we weren't allowed to discuss her.

Please abide by this decision.

Further text and replies removed.
