Australia / SOUTH AUSTRALIA School look up Please
« on: Wednesday 22 October 14 08:56 BST (UK)  »
hI
I am trying to locate what School my ancestor would have gone to in S.A
"Oliver John Drought MEE " and siblings .    -between the period of 1878 till 1888
They lived at Norman St, which may have been the Police Station as his father was Constable John MEE
and also  BLYTH PLAINS  were John MEE was listed as a farmer.

Any help to find what would have been the nearest School and /or were to get records for that time.
Thanks for the help

South Africa / SOUTH AFRICA SEARCH/ FOR ENTERTAINER TOURING IN 1898
« on: Sunday 05 October 14 04:05 BST (UK)  »
Cheers South Africa'
Can anybody help with searching South Africa Records for an ancestor .
Looking for  -
Stage name  "Olly GILBERT "   who  was an entertainer who completed a Tour of South Africa in Oct 1898 with "Hudsons Surprise Party"
Perhaps there is something in news Papers over there as there was in Newspapers here.

He may have returned to South Africa after 1906, so could checks be made for anything else also maybe a death for him,
He was born as Oliver John Drought MEE on 11/4/1873 , but used the names Olly Mee Gilbert, Oliver  or Laurence Gilbert and his stage name above.

Thank you all
