London and Middlesex / High Street Walthamstow?
« on: Sunday 28 July 19 23:43 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am researching for a friend.

Could anyone point me to any census records / reference details for an address in Walthamstow? It is an even number in the low 200s on the High Street. (I don't want to give the exact address). From what I've seen when trawling 1911 records so far, is that the enumerator did the odd numbers, and then did some of the even numbers, but didn't get to the address in question. Could it be recorded elsewhere? Or were the properties re-numbered at some point? The property itself does look like it has been built prior to the 1911 census.

Hope that makes sense!

Thank you!

Sorry, not sure why the photo is upside-down - it was the right way up when  attached it!

Thanks for the link. It is interesting to read more about the matron, especially as it looks like one of my great great uncles was a long term patient there.

The names don't sound familiar, so still no further forward in understanding why my photo looks like this... It looks like it has been deliberately torn around the Matron.

Wiltshire / Savernake Hospital - who are these people in the photo?

Hi,

Apologies for two questions in one post.

Through relatives descended from the Gregory family in Marlborough, I have come into possession of a copy of this photograph / postcard at : http://www.friendsofsavernake.org/official-posts-held-at-savernake-hospital-through-the-decades/

However, the photo / postcard that I have has been torn in half! I only have the right hand side of the photo (3 men at back, and two women at the front). From the website, I can see that one of the women is Matron Lavington, but would anyone know the names of the others, especially the women?

Also, does anyone know if and where a list of the nurses and other employess exists? I have already contacted the Friends of Savernake, but haven't heard anything yet.

Was this ever resolved? Was it a hoax or was Catherine found?

This is a picture of Harold and Leah's wedding - are some the women Pamplins, or are they Gregory family?

Hi,

I have just sent you a message via your profile on this site. I believe that I have a picture of Amy Pamplin, although she has addressed it to 'Jon' or 'Son' - hard to tell via handwritiing. I belive 'Son' or 'Jon' may have been a nick-name of Harold's, as I also have some army photos from his regiment that also address him the same (that's a post for another day, as they could be pictures of great grandparents of others!).

Happy to compare photos and look for likenesses.
