Poor great uncle Archie.  Like many of his generation who never came home again.  :(

:) That is great. I have never come across the name "Wyper" before and wonder what it's origins are?
But you have definitely located my maternal grandmothers line. i remember mum talking about uncle Archie, Auntie Jessie and Auntie Lizzie and I think there are old BnW photos of them "doon the water" in Largs in later years - the 30's or 40's?. Although I think either Jennie or Jessie was asylum'ed with post natal depression and I am not sure the family saw her again? Wonder how i could find that out?
Thanks you so much for your help It is very appreciated

Thank you RootsChat and Ruskie. You have found her yes. She married Hugh Gallacher in 1918 and was stated as being 27 at the time (maybe she wanted to be younger as it was he was five years younger. than her and I believe there always was bit of a mystery about her age...) .
What i don't know is anything about her ancestry other than the names of Archibald and Margaret her father and mother. And that by 1918 Margaret her mother (nee Boyd) was deceased.
Thank you for taking an interest.
