I got on as soon as it went live at 12.00am, but am quite disappointedÖ
The only new info that I got was that my Grandfather William James Wilson was 61 years and 4 months old in June 1921!

Anyway... Is anyone planning to start searching at 1 minute past midnight?

Quite likely!

I completely understand the reasons for charges, and personally would be prepared to pay a lot more if it gave me any clue at all to the origins of my ever elusive paternal grandfather!
However, Iím not holding my breath, as he seems a past master at obliterating any clues at all about his antecedentsÖ

As the date finally nears, I have been thinking of you and hoping that mysterious grandad appears on the 1921. I will be keeping my eyes open for you to post that you've finally found where he came from.

Good luck

Carol x

Many thanks Carol,

And thanks for all of your help with trying to find him over the years.

Iíll be sure to post on here if I find anything at all!

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Ancestry DNA Delay - No New Matches
« on: Tuesday 04 January 22 09:40 GMT (UK)  »
I agree Queenie,

It does seem odd to not put something on the Site advising about the closedown, but perhaps they thought that people might start asking for refunds?

I only found out from posts on a Facebook Group.

Incidentally Iíve had about a dozen new DNA matches through this morning, but all under 20cMs.

I hope that your results come through soon.

Rees seems to have been spelt in a variety of ways in the USA!

All of my Swansea Reesís were just plain Rees.

And yes, Rees is a very common name in Wales.  :)

Fascinating Sandra, - thanks so much.

I knew that two of my Grandmotherís sisters emigrated to the USA and Iíve followed Sarah Anne Phillips, (nee Rees) to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but I hadnít known that John Rees, (born 1859) the eldest of the siblings, had also emigrated to the USA,  but to Ohio.

Best Wishes Romilly.
