I have a death certificate for a Sarah Smith who died 16thJanuary 1900 at 5,Stanley Street-Nelson Lancashire and she was the widow of Brice Smith a Farmer.
I had purchased it as part of my 16 year- search for my maternal 2x great-grandmother and I thought that at last I had found her because I knew that my great-grandfather had an elder brother who had a shop just around the corner from this address, but I was wrong !!!
I have since found the correct one  only a couple of weeks ago and in all the past 28years of research this has been my only wrong purchase!
Therefore this certificate is free to anyone who is connected to this lady.

Merry Christmas to all,

Hi Amanda, Whilst looking for information regarding William McKay " Whip String Maker" as part of some research I am undertaking for a friend, I happened upon your query.
William McKay is the maternal- 3xgreat-grandfather of my friend and your Maria is an elder sister to my friends 2x great-grandmother Elizabeth.
I believe that the William McKay listed as a " Clock-string maker" on 1881 Census at Openshaw is the correct William and he came back to Burnley later and died at Forrest Street and was buried at Burnley Cemetery on 7th March 1888, by the way a child of Maria's ( Massey Layfield ) is in the same grave!
Regards,
