Can anyone help me out? I am trying to get a birth registration or Christening for Richard Curd born around 1785 in Yalding to John Curd and Maria Groombridge.
Tried all the on line registries and they come up with nothing. The name is often written as Card.

Hi there,
My wife is descended from the Muirs on Bute and we believe that John Muir born in 1788 was her 2nd great grandfather. He was James Muir, b 1786 brother (Archibald b.1823's father)
In one of your posts you mention that Archibald and Agnes (Robertson) had a number of siblings (James, Robertson, George etc etc) but according to my research these were children and not siblings. Can you please clarify for me as the research I have makes no sense otherwise!!!

In 1868 he was noted on George's Marriage Certificate as a "Smith" and at that time deceased

My Great Grandfather was born in St Petersburg on 21 July 1848. His name was George Richard Ayliffe...the son of John and Jane Ayliffe. Later in life he was sent to boarding school in Windsor, England so I assume his parents remained in St Petersburg.
Any ideas please as to why they would have been in Russia at this time and where I can find out more information?
