Thanks Susan, any one of these could be the James I am looking for! I would hedge my bets on James being his Father as the other two names do not run through the family. Hmmmm...

Hi, I realise that this is a rather old post that I am replying to but, does anyone know anything about the James Birkett who married Ann Coward (Daughter of John & Hannah Mason). The only Information I have is that he was from the "Birkett's" of Middlerigg, Troutbeck family. I'm having problems finding his parents. Thanks.

Re, Baptism error. Had the parents of William been something other than William & Hannah I would have expected to see these names within the children born to William & Sarah. The children being, James Bradley Birkett, William, Hannah, John Thomas, (John being Sarah's Fathers name), & Sarah Ann. Puzzled???

Fabulous ColC, Does it give the fathers names? I have been looking for a Sarah Bradley, (because the first born child was James Bradley Birkett)! but, came up with nothing...I'm using Ancestry & Family search. Where did you magic that from?? Thank you.

Thanks ColC, These are a different branch of the family who I am trying to connect to William of Crossgill Mill! I'm wondering if the entry for William of Beetham is wrong regarding the parents?

Hi, I have a William Birkett, Born Beetham 1824 in my family tree. This is the information I have presently, all the census records for William & his family from 1851 onwards. His wife was Sarah ?. William was in partnership with a William Peille (Peele) at Crossgill Mill, Langdale on the 1871 Census. William Peille was his cousin. He had a Brother, James Birkett of Grasmere, (information from a Will dated 1872). The baptism record for William at Beetham, 20 June 1824 shows the parents being William Birkett & Hannah. However, I cannot find any other siblings for William born in Beetham to the said parents? Does anyone have any information about this family? Thankyou, Mandy
