Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Thomas BROOM St Peter's Old Brampton

Hello cousin and thank you for replying.

The online transcript of the Chester Goal Register lists Brampton M--- as 'Where born' for Thomas Broom, but if you have a transcript that lists it as 'Place of Abode' that would be of great interest as it makes the Great Longstone baptism more feasible.  Any chance of a copy please, when you dig it out?  My email is tinderrygenealogy@gmail.com.

Thanks

Hi cefn,
Which branch are you from?   My grandmother was Abraham McIntosh's  second daughter.
Cheers

Thanks for that Imber, that places mine after 1914 so far.  Any other certificate numbers & dates out there?

I gather that the BRC certificate numbers were issued sequentially as volunteers 'signed up'.  Is there a guide to when these were issued?  If not, would members who have corroborating evidence be able to help me narrow down the date of issue for certificate number 8383 please?   I believe she was a nursing sister.
TIA  :)

Thanks Carol for checking the Brampton CDs for me.  Anything for BROWN that could be his family?  Or anything that could be his own marriage?
Cheers,  Bev

Hi from down under.
My convict ancestor is Thomas BROOM. When arrested his Chester Gaol Register recorded him as being 22 years & born in 'Brampton M..... near Chesterfield,  Derbys'.  A local Derbyshire family historian suggests the most likely location is Brampton Moor.

His inferred year of birth from a variety of convict records & death certificate is 1808-1810.  Death cert states parents were Abraham & Sarah BROOM, maiden name unknown.  There is one possible baptism in Great Longstone 6 Apr 1806, but I'd appreciate it if someone with Old Brampton CDs could check for other possibilities.

He was a widower,  so I'm also looking for marriage and death of an unknown Mrs Broom
prior to 1831.

Thanks in anticipation :)
