Thank you for replying, you managed to find out a lot more than i did, i did find The Charming Nancy which was wrecked and plundered off the coast of Anglesey is listed in a book called The Shipping Index Of The British Isles, only a little information there though. A freind of mine who lives in Rhoscolyn first told me this story, will see if i knows any more, thanks again.

Does anybody know or can confirm anything about a story i was once told, about a man named Sion Parry from a farm called Bryn Y Bar on the coast in Rhoscolyn Anglesey, he was allegedly hanged in the 1800's for causing the wrecks of ships and plundering the remains.

Does anyone have any information about an alleged copper mine (The Hamlet Copper Mine?) in the Porthdafarch area of Holyhead,Anglesey, near an inlet called Copper Mine Creek on OS maps. It is said that the Romans mined copper there and it was started up again in the 1850's to the 1880's, but i have also been told that it was an elaborate con to raise money from investors and grants.

Anglesey / Re: The Ashcroft and Anglesey ltd Copper Mine.

Hello all and thank you for replying, I have lived about two miles from the old copper mine all my life and know the area very well, just around the corner from Porth Y Rhwydau ( Cove of the nets ) are two ring bolts in the rocks and i was wondering if they were anything to do with shipping the copper ore from there, or are they anything to do with salvaging something from the ships that have come to grief there ( eg  SS Missouri 1886.) There are hardly any signs of any work ever going on there except  for the small drop down into Copper Mine Creek as there is stone work from the path to the creek floor, and if you look at an aerial photo you can see a round and rectangular shape in the ground above the area and also there is what looks like an entrance which is over grown with a small waterfall . It may be nothing to do with the mine. As for Porth Ryffudd which is about a mile along the coast i have never heard of copper mines  there. There is at least one cave in Porth Y Rhwydau ( Low tide ) which goes in a good way and you can see brownish red bands on the cave walls. The copper ore there was of very high quality although it was only a small mine and i wonder how they got it from there as the road was only fit for horse ad carts in those days.

Hello, as a child i remember my Grandfather telling me about the time he as a child was taken to see Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show whilst it was in Holyhead ( Tuesday May 3rd 1904). Were it took place is unclear to me , he told me of one place and someone else said he had been told the site was some were else.Looking through Welsh Newspaper archives on line i found some posters of venues close to Holyhead, (Bangor, Caernarvon, Aberystwyth etc ) and they mention the site were the show took place but only dates of future shows. I have spent some time looking through these archives but i can't find an actual poster of the show in Holyhead stating were it would take place. It must have been quite an event with extra sailings laid on from Kingstown ( Dunlaoghaire). It's amazing to me how the show managed to move around the country so quick with so many people and horse's involved.Does anyone  know anything about the show in Holyead and were it took place.
