I was interested in the Muckersie family, because they appear in my DNA matches and I have no idea how we are connected.

It certainly looks as if it has been overwritten.  I was hoping that there might be further information there.
Thank you so much for your efforts.  I have the whole book to transcribe and it is fascinating included his imprisonment in Ireland and being entertained on an English ship, giving his information about Cork, and travelling with the fleet to the attack on Cork and its surrender.  Also a recipe for pickled salmon

This is a commonplace book I am trying to decipher, and concerns the genealogy of one of my husband's ancestors.
So far I have the following and am struggling with the gaps.  A fresh pair of eyes would be much appreciated.

Christopher Tuthill of Barpoole (Bathpool)
in Dunston parish near
 Taunton, gentl.,  my mother
was youngest child & daughter
to                White of Vurley (Furley)
                                sister of
Rich: child of        in the
parish of Membury near
 Chard & sister to Rich
White of Axminster in
the County Dorsett

Very often, daughters went back to mother's home to give birth, and the baby was baptised there.

You might like to consider the spelling Gask(e) which is in my family and sometimes mistranscribed/misheard.

Hi I have found on Find My Past a removal order for Ann Weldon Oct 1827 being removed from Nottingham St Mary's to Sleaford in Lincolnshire- singlewoman pregnant.  Could you tell me if there are any more details about her in the Nottinghamshire records, perhaps a settlement examination.  I am not convinced that her maiden name was Weldon.  She may have also had two other children, perhaps Harriet and Joseph.

Thank you, Bunnygirl.  They seem to be the right sort of names.  Matthew called his eldest son William so that looks likely, although I haven't found any Susannas yet, but one of his daughters was Hannah

I wonder if Susanna died and William was married again to the Hannah who produced Jonah.
