Thankyou for looking this up for me. I don't think I'm going to find Bartholomew anywhere!

I am looking for the baptism of Bartholomew Frogley, possibly around 1708... He married Ann Hinder on 4th November 1733 in Besselsleigh and the couple had eight children all baptised in Wantage (including another Bartholomew in 1749).
A family tree I have seen on FamilySearch suggests he was born around 1708 and was the son of John Frogley and Mary Gregory but I'm not sure whether there is any evidence of this.
If anyone can help with a look-up I'd be very grateful.

 Hi Alan
I cannot thank you enough for all your help. You have filled the missing pieces of the jigsaw!

I've found a non-conformist birth record for a Frogley son of Robert and Elizabeth in Abingdon in 1764 and although no first name for the child is given I think it may be Joseph. If so I can now go back another generation or two. I will need to do some further investigation.

Thanks again for all your help.
Best wishes
Sarah

Thankyou so much! Yes I'm sure this is the right family. Do you know if Joseph and Sarah had any other children? And is there a baptism for Joseph Frogley (senior)?

Can anyone help with looking up parish registers for Abingdon please?

I am looking for the baptism of Joseph Frogley in the 1790's or early 1800's.
He lived in London later in life and I have found him on the 1851 census with a birthdate of c1801 and on the 1861 census with a birthdate of c1794. He states that he was born in Abingdon and was a chairmaker by trade.

Hello
I am interested in the McDonnell and Mckeon family that you mention.
I have found a Daniel Mckeon (born late 1840's) he lived in Tuitestown for much of his life but died in Clondalever in 1898. He was killed in an affray. I have found newspaper articles about his killing and a Margaret McDonnell, Daniel's niece, is mentioned as a witness. She lived in Foxburrow. The article also stated that Daniel lived at Drumhurlin Bridge.
I had found the birth of Margaret - daughter of James McDonnell/McDonald and Anne McKeon - and wondered if this was Daniel's niece. The 1901 census shows Margaret as a domestic servant living in Foxburrow (name spelled at McDonnall).
I know that Daniel married Anne McCormick (or McCormack) in 1873 but have only found the parish record of this marriage, not the civil registration which would tell me Daniel's father's name. I did find a possible baptism in 1847 at Collinstown, son of John McKeon and Margaret Devitt....
I notice that the marriage registration of James McDonnell and Anne McKeon shows Anne's father as a John Mckeon... But I was not able to find a baptism for Anne McKeon which would prove the link.

I wonder if you have done any more research into the McKeon family and whether you have found anything to prove that Daniel and Anne were siblings?
If I can prove that they were siblings then I'll know I've got the right set of parents for Daniel which will take me back another generation.

Lincolnshire / Re: Any Tuckney Taylor descendents??
« on: Saturday 23 December 17 19:02 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks for the reply - James (husband of Ann) was the brother of Thomas Forman Taylor. They clearly both had a Tuckney in their ancestry.

If, as I suspect, they are descended from the family who lived in Kirton, Lincs this would explain it.

It may interest others who are looking at various Tuckney Taylors on this thread that I have found where the name Tuckney comes from.
Priscilla Forman, who married Jonathan Taylor in 1753 and was the mother of John (1756) and Tuckney (1771), was herself born in 1730, the daughter of John Forman and Martha Gregson. Martha Gregson was born in Kirton in 1699 and was the daughter of John Gregson and Martha Tuckney who married in Kirton in 1698.
