If its the place on the corner I can remember it being a sweet shop that a relative bought off one of my sister's friends parents. Another relative lives there now.

I'm looking for relatives of my relative JAMES HAMILL 1921-1993 from the Skipton area.
His father was Anthony Hamill born 1896 and his mother was Rose Ann Bryden.

You could try electoral registers for 29 Crosby Street Maryport in 1921 to see who was living there.

Something to check out - There was a marriage in Skipton Yorkshire of Anthony Hamill to Rose Bryden - June 1921 - 9a 98
A birth the following year for a James Hamill - Registered March 1922 - Skipton 9a 42
This James was born 9 December 1921 and passed away January 1993 -

Rose Ann Hamill and Anthony lived at 6 Bessie Street Skipton in 1922.

Sandra

You were correct SANDRA!
Bumped into my great aunty today and she told me Anthony married a Rose and lived in Yorkshire.
They had five children but he left them and departed from Southampton Docks on a ship for America in the 1930's?
She said it was sunk, so I'm guessing it was during WW2?

Lancashire / Re: IAN CURTIS?

His other lines appear to be English and Welsh (most people have 8 "grt grandparents"). Thats if it's his tree you are following. As another poster has said, there seems to be a few possibilities.

Mainly his Curtis ancestors I've been researching.
Haven't gone too much into others so far.
