World War Two / Re: Does anyone know where 50 PTC was?
« on: Thursday 02 February 17 12:39 GMT (UK)  »
I am reasonably sure that P.T.C refers to Personnel Transit Centre as I am researching my fathers wartime career in the RAF and he was stationed firstly at AIR 29/486 No 54 P.T.C at Taranto (in southern Italy) from Sept 1944 to Jan 1946. He notes in his log book that he is on staff here. He then moved on to Milan and then on to another PTC at Villach in Austria called Camp Alemain but I can find little record of this. He told me he was one of two movements officers at this transit centre.

Hi LizDB and Robbiesmum,

Fantastic info thank you very much has pushed me forward or should I say backward in a matter of minutes. This would definitely seem to be my 4x great grandfather Leonard.

Thanks

Yes he died 10.7. 1844 at Barns, Walton. He was living with his daughter in law Jane Kennedy nee Dodgson and Thomas her son. Just seen your second post interesting about the witnesses to the marriage. Did Thomas and Jane have any other issue that you know of?
Thank you

I am trying to find the parents of Leonard Kennedy baptised 4.3.1759 and married Jane Little on 3.2. 1782 at Stapleton. I have a possible Thomas as father for Leonard and an Archibald as father for Jane has anyone done any research on this family. He is my 4x Great Grandfather.

Thanks - Special K
