Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / test help needed
« on: Friday 05 July 19 19:37 BST (UK)  »
hi all.

I need some guidance and advice regarding the next move in tracing my biological father. I've been at this for 3 years now and have to say I've achieved a lot with the help from others and this forum. I'm at the point where I have isolated what I believe is the family line and name. what I'm looking for is the test that will give me that vital result if I am indeed the son of one of the males in this family. advice please on how I proceed next and who to use for the test.

hi all

need some help regarding dna and the y test. i have been searching for my biological father now for a number of years. my adopted mother never told me his name even though she knew it and him. she is sadly no longer with us. but a converstion she had with my wife intriuged me and as such the search began, she said to my wife in one of her typical off the cuff this after first asking her how i was. " he,s a COLES you know , docile lot they were, kept pigs in ely(cardiff). wilf(thats my adopted dad) used to drink with his father,i never told him though". so i have through social media found what i beleave is the coles family line. how can i confirm i may be related to this family?

hi all

to all who have contributed to this thread i am very grateful. much useful information has emerged thanks to all. to clarify : i am the biological son of phylis may wilson nee isgar. phylis was last residing in penarth so i was told. she has no connection with the devon side as she was definately cardiff born and bred. 77 frank road ely was her address prior to her marrige to wilson  in 1944 her marrige certificate states she was in the  RAF.  L.A.C/W 428065 W.A.A.F (MACHINIST). most likely st athan. wilson was also RAF L.A.C 1138826 APPRENTICE FITTER). hence there meeting. it would also appear that according to kellys directory of 1964 the mentioned brother of phylis   harold r isgar was living at 7 dunmuir road tremorfa.
