@joyce341: did you managed to track anything down. Also is this the same Samuel Freial who died 2/8/1844 aged 45 @ Bradley Buildings?

Looking to make contact with anyone who is/has researched the Freail family name (since all those existing are related back to one Samuel Freail who died approx 1836).

World War One / Re: Trying to identify the year / regiment of this photo

so many responses and quickly. thank you.
With regard the reverse of the postcard, unfortunately all i have is the front someone else scanned it some years ago.
I wasn't sure re the unit because whilst it states rifles I know due to losses some units amalgamated. We had 3 members serve and were led to believe this was of one of them. 3 Medal Rolls below in case that may add anything, otherwise a possible dead end. thanks

World War One / Trying to identify the year / regiment of this photo
« on: Monday 25 January 16 20:53 GMT (UK)  »
Obviously a WW1 photo @ Christmas time but I'm trying to identify perhaps the regiment which may be one of the following:
3rd London Regiment or Royal Gunners Artillery 132B or Northampton Regiment

Additionally anything else anyone can spot e.g. were these type of cards standard in WW1 or perhaps tie it down to a particular year?

thanks
