I'm not sure I understand but I'll have to ask my cousin, who has been doing our history for a few years.

This is very bizzarre, I am brand new at researching history and have gotten the dates and names muddles up. Also I don't know what "c1805" means. It will take me a while to get my head around it.

Okay so anyway, James Smalley is the earliest relative we have documentation of, he was born in 1805, I'm not sure what relation he was to my Great Grandfather, only that they are apart of our family tree (I'll have to ask my second cousin for more information). Thomas Henry Smalley and he was born at sea on 1 September 1851.

Sorry I meant Thomas Henry Smalley and he was born at sea, a slight oversight as I am not familiar with my families history and got confused the information.

Unless William Smalley was the product of a sole parent.

I simply wouldn't of existed unless William Smalley was real, so I exist therefore there must be missing pieces to this puzzle.

That doesn't really make sense because all of their offspring were women meaning the line would have been lost in name from then on, unless they had an illegitimate child and were named after the mother - which knowing my own temperament would make sense as we are fairly independent women in our family and don't prioritize things like hetero normative societies. So perhaps we were just more independent and progressive than most.

My Great Great Grandfather's name was Thomas Henry Smalley and he was born at sea on 1 September 1851 on the way to the Ballarat Goldfields, Australia. I have a family tree that goes back to the Smalley Family- James Smalley, born in Leverington Cambridge England in 1805. I also have a relative by the name of Elizabeth McGrath who was a   seamstress from Tipperary Ireland. I am looking to know what vocations the Smalleys and family used to have and learn a bit about their lives in Cambridge.

Regards
