I don’t I just know it’s quarter 2 1905. And with not being able to find his death I’m just totally stuck.

Thanks Cas I was rather hoping she’d have been more to do with William than Thomas, I believe I have the correct death for him in 1929 which would make sense as he’s not on the electoral rolls I’ve found from 1931.
Even less to go on for a marriage for William 🙈.

Hi All,
After a few years off I’ve returned to researching and whilst I’ve found a few more things with the help of further released documents, one person is giving me the run around and I am stuck.
I am trying to find a marriage and death for William Wilson born 1905 Gateshead to Thomas Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Wilson mother maiden name Bailey.
On the 1911 census they are in Elswick. I can’t find him on the 1921 census but I have found 3 newspaper articles of him being arrested (along with his brother 😅) and it states he had a black record, these were circa 1923. In 1927 he is in the electoral register at 188 Albion row (predominantly the family home) there is also a Christina Wilson listed and I’m unaware as to who she is. They are still there in 1932.
I then find him on the 1953 electoral roll at 27 pottery bank (another house known to the family) but I still can’t find a marriage or death. I’ve recently been told he had a daughter called Margaret who lived round the corner and when married she became a Moore, any help or fresh eyes would be appreciated.

Thank you all so much! I’ve found those now, although I’d never have thought to try Hey instead of Iley, so much for thinking they’d be easier to find over Wards/Wilson’s, guess that’s what makes searching so much fun.
I’ve found out so much about this particular part of my tree over the years it’s nice to add a bit more to it, thanks again all of you.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1921 Census Struggle

Hi all,
I’d taken a break from searching but have come back to it now the 1921 census is out, but I’m really struggling.
Out of either side I’m searching the one I thought would be easiest I can’t find any of them anywhere. I’d be grateful for any help (fresh eyes may be required!) or I’ve just genuinely lost my touch.
It’s the Hermitage family I’m looking for William Henry Hermitage (1865) & Sarah Emily Hermitage (nee Collins) (1862) and particularly there daughter Grace Emily who married George Herbert Iley in 1919. I’ve tried searching all name variants.

Thank you so much, I’ve not heard of that site so will give it a go thank you.
A couple of years ago we decided to try and find my great grandfathers grave we knew roughly where abouts it could be (in Heaton cemetery). I rang the civic and they said there was a headstone but it might not necessarily be his. As it happens his daughter is buried in the same grave, they both died the same year, and another person was buried last. It is her headstone on the grave, they arranged for someone to meet us and show us exactly where it is, I came home and traced the lady to figure it and basically she was married to a descendant of Margaret’s brother (off the top of my head) I traced a relative who just happened to be friends and neighbours with the granddaughter of my great aunt who was buried in the grave first and they had no idea!
Amazing what you can find out. William would be buried not too far away from him either.
My mum can briefly recall knowing ‘Wilson’s’ as she put it growing up but cannot remember who or where they were from.

This is great! Was this just the archives at the city library? I must try and get there next week. Is it easy enough to understand most things? If that’s not too silly a question.
It seems they lived around that area as they lived at Back George St too.
I wonder if the Thomas was my great great grandfather I’ve often wondered if him and William were brothers as Margaret’s sister Mary Elizabeth married Thomas Wilson. So I’m technically searching two stems of Wilson’s just to confuse matters even more. Their mother was a nightmare too.
Funny he should be buried there half the family are! I may have to just take a trip and try and find his grave. Thank you so much.
