Thank you, yes found email by chance in my email spam folder while searching for something else that hasn't turned up, which I rarely do otherwise wouldn't seen. I adjusted my email settings in case of reply again was quite surprised after so long.

Hello,
I wondered how you got on with the 'Bond' search?
As I am also looking up the same Bond family.
I see your great-grandfather was: Herbert Arthur Ernest Bond, he is also my great-grandfather.
I descend from his children from his second marriage to Elsie.

Were your grandparents Bert and Freda?
Look forward to hearing from you,
Thank you in advance! :)

I sent direct message few weeks ago to your post.
However was in hurry at the time and never replied directly here. My original post was about three years ago so surprised it had been found. With that in mind thought I should post again here in case anyone else reads this thread in passing. I am still researching the line although not recently due to hitting brick wall. Would very much like to find any photographs of Herbert Bond his family esp first wife and their children whom I have no photograph, would mean great deal to my mother. I would also like to find still anything about Herbert's parents & siblings who were in entertainment as comedian, musicians and actors.

Family History Beginners Board / Nicholas Baldock

I seem to have a hit a brick wall finding out the parents of Nicholas Baldock (alternative spelling Baldocke) born in 1562 in Minster Sheppey, Kent, he died in 1622. He married Agnes Allen in 1587 in Canterbury, they had 7 children Richard, Jane, Nicholas, Petronella, Robert, Anthony and Thomas. If anyone can find anything out be greatly appreciated to enable me to try to move back further. Thank you  :)

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Baldocks in Westwell and Charing.

For information,

David Baldock was baptised at Mersham,
1820 Jan 30 David son of Deborah Baldock – baseborn

William Wood Baldock was baptised at Westwell,
1826 Jun 10 William Wood son of Deborah Baldock – otp – Single Woman

Deborah Baldock was baptised at Eastwell,
1797 Dec 3 Deborah daughter of William and Sarah Baldock – Privately, Publically admitted to Church 24 December.

Deborah was buried at Westwell,
1837 Oct 23 Deborah Baldock - from the West Ashford Union Workhouse, otp and said to be 38.

There may have been a (bastardy) hearing in relation to David Baldock’s father but, it is even less likely that it still exists.

One difficulty in researching David Baldock’s Family is that his wife in Census returns is shown as Ann!  However, when he married at Folkestone on 3 November 1847 his wife was Rebecca Hancock.  Her father was stated to be Stephen and David’s father was said to be David Baldock a Salesman!  The death of David’s widow was registered in 1896 (at Elham District) as Ann Rebecca Baldock.  Her age was noted to be 73.

You may well have all of this but, I thought it may prove useful in clarifying the family.

Tony

Thank you for this very kind of you. Sorry for late reply not been on here for few months only popped on once recently and missed this post reply. Just been getting back into my research working on 3 branches that I last left with brickwall having researched as much as I could free online. Having said that surprised from when I started just how much I have found starting from only small amount of info about two years ago.

I'm having some trouble further down line sat the moment accounting for what happened to one his daughters Fanny Baldock B1859 in Folkestone, who I believe unmarried she had Alfred in 1875 who later died age 13 in 1888. Not confirmed there could be more children at time of death she remained Baldock but not confirmed. Trying to find out if she did have anymore children she moved around most of her life between service and living with her widowed mother and other family members from census.

You will need to order the certificate; its contents cannot be looked up.

Thank you received it  :)

I've been trying to research my Baldock line in Westwell & Eastwell for sometime and hit a brickwall. The furthest I have is David Baldock born 1817 although has been listed 1817-1821.

Trying to confirm David's father I believe his brother William born 1826, their mother as far as I can tell didn't marry as I cannot find a father for either listed or any marriage to any Deborah's for that matter in that part of Kent fitting the time frame. So assuming now Deborah carried the Baldock name on, although need to make sure that is correct. So wondered if our branches might cross does your research have any  later connections in Folkestone after 1830s ? David moved there and was later  innkeeper in the town before he died in 1863.

Thank you I will check all this  :) Being a novice still, I can't believe how fast you all find things that take me twice as long or hit a wall. I guess with time I will get quicker and joining Ancestry will help give wider picture.
