Shropshire Lookup Requests / Re: James Lowe Family 1847

You are correct with William Henry (Bennett) Lowe. He is James' daughter, Jane's son. Who is my x4 great grandmother. William was the child of Jane Lowe and  George Bennett. He was born out of wedlock in 1864, Jane was George's servant in the 1881 census, and then they were listed as married in the 1891. (Though I haven't found a marriage record) They also had daughter Rosina born 1882 who is my Great Great Grandmother.

Hi David,
The only information i have on Thomas and Elizabeth is a marriage from Shropshire parish records for the 29 december 1794. Witnesses were George Dean and 'Nathl' Porter.
There is a possible census record for Thomas in Lilleshall, 1841, born 1772, Shropshire also. Occupation listed as Carpenter.
Im currently trying to find further info on this line of my tree, if i find anything further i will be sure to post!

Out of curiosity also, have you ever heard of any gypsy connections to any part of this line of the family?
My Nan always said we had Gypsy ancestors somewhere on her side and im trying to narrow down which part of the family it may have came from - though have found little evidence so far, so it may just be one of those family myths! Thought it wouldn't hurt to ask though, as you're the first person I've come across with a connection to this part of my family tree :)

Hi Claire,

Thank you so much,  i'd not spotted this one!  It could very well be it.

I've tried looking through the census records using Rosanna and James, with no hits, but a few Ann's that are widowed- so you could be on the right track with the theory of using Ann.

There are a few though, so its hard to pin down one that may well be the Rosanna you mentioned, to look for more clues to find a possible connection- so many Bennetts from Shropshire with the same names and similar dates  ???
Thank you so much again  :D

Shropshire / Joseph Bennett Shropshire 1810

Hi all, I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with the parents marriage of Joseph BENNETT, born SHIFNALL SHROPSHIRE in 1810.
He was baptised in Shifnall  in 1811, to parents JAMES BENNETT and ANN. I also found baps for 3 siblings at the same parish. (William 1816, John 1814 and Samuel 1818)
I've not been able to find a marriage record in Shropshire for a James Bennett and Ann, the closest was in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire in 1812 - &  although this James was born in Clee Hill Shropshire, this James and Ann baptised and raised there children in Wolverhampton... so I'd guess they aren't the same that I am looking for.
I've checked census records also for James and Ann living in Shropshire, with no luck.
Any help with this would be fantastic  :)
