This is the birth record of my great-great grandmother, Annousa Poulakis. She was born in 1881 on a Greek island called Kea.

Despite being a native Greek speaker, I can't understand what's written.

I'm more than grateful to anyone willing to help!

Thank you in advance!

No idea Anto, I've never used it myself!

Perhaps others may be able to tell you that.

Well, let's wait and see!  ;)

No if you click on the 'sign in' bit at the top right hand corner of the Rootsweb site you get taken to the sign in or register page.

Just register and off you go.  It's free!

I just registered and posted a query. Is it as active as Rootschat?

Hi,

I want to be a member of RootsWeb.com. I am really interested in the message boards, I believe they're useful. However, I am not a member of Ancestry... Should I sign up there first?

Thank you all for your replies. I realised that the chances of identifying this man are very slim, as my friend Treetolal wrote, but I'll let the photo here, in case someone sees it and recognises him.

Not much chance of that unless he was looking for it and had some sort of facial recogition app himself

anyway he'd see that you'd had a moral dilemna about posting it

you can remove it from this public post and ask a techno wizz to look at it in a private message ..if no-one offers
is the man on photo definitely deceased ...not supposed to post living people on here

Good luck B

The man is deceased for many years, and my uncle is 75 years old.

Right click on the photo on this thread - one of the images should be to search using google.

But the photo has to be unsearchable, so that my uncle will not come across it.  :-\

Sorry, I misread your initial post.  The only way that it could become unsearchable would be to remove it.

So, let's hope that my uncle won't come across it.  :P

That's the man. His name was George and he fought in Greece during WW2.

Is there a way to make the photo unsearchable through Google???
