Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Garstang/Barnacre Census

That could sound promising for the marriage and death. Robert's two daughters were born 1835 and 1836 so those dates match.

It's the closest dates I've had to the 1837 mark and it's frustrating!

I have got most of what I think belongs to me from IGI but then again you never know what you might miss. Have the children of Robert (senior) and Sarah.

Was it normal to have that many children or should I presume that a few died young?

I have on another family in this line the case of having two children with the same name (Robert actually!) born about 5 years apart so presumably he died young.

Thanks anyway guys

Jo

Lancashire / Whitesides in Lancashire
« on: Thursday 22 December 05 16:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

I'm researching a branch of Whitesides from the Garstang district of Lancashire, areas such as Out Rawcliffe, Barnacre, Hambleton.

I'm currently trying to write up the Whiteside part of my family history - not that there's a lot but it helps to keep on top.

I have researched back to a Moses Whiteside born 1781 in Rawcliffe who married Margaret Salisbury.

If there is anyone who thinks there may be a match let me know. I have various bits of information from then to the present day so there may be some gaps to fill in!

Thanks, Jo

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1841 Garstang/Barnacre Census

Hi there.

I'm searching for a Robert WHITESIDE in the 1841 census. He should be aged 31.

Unfortunatley I'm not quite sure where he could be. He was born in Rawcliffe, Lancs.

In 1842 he married his second wife (have marriage cert) and his residence was Catterall, Lancs. He has two daughters to his first wife (don't know her name). His second wife was from Wyersdale, Lancs.

After they married, the family moved to Barnacre, Lancs.

So I'm not quite sure where they are and I know this is a long shot but hey, it's worth a try.

Thanks, Jo

PS: I have Robert's father and his family and possibly Robert's daughters already on the 1841 census in Rawcliffe transcribed as Witeside. Father's name is Moses
