Longford / Re: Daniel Hoey born abt 1798/9 Co Longford Ireland

Hi Maggsie, noticed that Daniel was born in 1830 if he enlisted in 1849 aged 19, could have been a number of Hoey families in Co Longford. As I say he had a son Edward born in 1825 so I guess he was more likely to name the first born after himself.

I don't know about Ellen b 1794 -1796, anything is possible at this stage, kind regards Peter

Hi Maggsie, I have only just found out from Royal Navy records that he was born in Ireland. In his Royal Navy records it says that he died on 18 Jun 1859, although I am not sure of the location as yet. Could it be that Honora stayed in Ireland? can't find either him nor her in any UK records, but I think he was in North London around 1847 according to pension records. Many thanks for your help, kind regards Peter.

Hi, looking for any more information on the above married Honora 19 Jul 1819 at Logan? Co Longford.
He was paid a Royal Navy pension via Capt Ormsby in the Athlone District in 1847.
Any other information on the Hoey family in that district would be very much appreciated, cheers Peter.

Thanks Bookbox for your reply some useful information on what you sent appears that Daniel Hoay (Hoey) wife was named Honara or more likely Honora.

I was aware that Find my past have this stuff on line but I am out of funding at the moment unless it would be ok to pay for a 1 month subscription to get the full information. I know to get the 1939 register you have to pay for a whole year and I don't have that money at the moment.

Again many thanks for your help, regards Peter.
